Vanity Fair Sewing Room Set - Sims 2 Conversion

Violà! My latest conversions set converted from The Sims 2: this is Cashcraft's Vanity Fair Sewing Room. I have seen some of these items converted by other creators, but some items I have not seen at all. I have certainly tried to improve on the items released by others - hopefully you prefer to use my versions 😂

In my tableaux, I have made a little dress-maker's store - the last item from the set happened to be a cash register, so it completely transformed how I viewed the set.

There's also a few pieces I decided not to convert: a separate sewing machine, the sewing machine table without the machine there, and a table lamp that I felt didn't really go with anything.

In Cashcraft's Sims 2 set, the sewing machine functioned in some way. I don't have The Sims 2, so I don't actually understand how it worked, or whether it really did anything other than play an animation.

I have, however, made the sewing table behave like a desk - so you can have sims sit there if you want to take some pictures or something for a story, or it can just be decorative.

SO What's in the set?

Hat on a stand

Pile of fabric

4x Dress forms (3 with dresses on, one without)

Desk chair

Pattern cutting board (with miscellaneous paraphernalia)

Miscellaneous paraphernalia (separate to the above mention)

Pile of thread spools

Ribbons

Pin cushion

Sewing machine oil can

"Sewing shelf" (it's more of a fabric wall display with a pinboard)

Sewing cabinet

Work table

Treadle sewing machine

Freestanding sewing basket (/box table thing)

Tabletop sewing basket (/box)

Cash register

IF you have Cottage Living, the sewing baskets function as a box for embroidery, plus hold storage, so you can store all your wool and thread etc. If you don't have CL, these items will be decoration only (plus deco slots on the free-standing one, so you can use it as a table).

IF you have Get To Work, the Cash Register functions as a Retail Store cash register (this will not show in game as deco if you do not have GTW).

The cash register will only sit on a specific slot type - this is included on a lot of shop counter cc (I hope all!), and there's three EA ones in game.

It has been raining so I have been pottering about in the sewing room. I had a good tidy and dust which resulted in a bit of a shuffle about. I need a better desk lamp to help with my Teams calls, I have been looking a bit ghostly. Might have to look at whats available in the way of desk lamps. I also want to set up a better pressing station. I have some ideas for that. There again some shopping is needed. Otherwise we shall see how this layout works. I think it will work well just for me but if Daughter wants to join me in the sewing room we may have to turn the sewing table back around the other way.

I love where she has, how she has, her Batting Roll! I buy mine by the Bolt so it comes rolled on a flat piece of cardboard. If I could get one of those large cardboard rolls, I would roll it and hang it like that!
