designEX // NEST 14 curated by THE SNAP COLLECTIVE
The 26th incarnation of designEX - Australia’s premier design ideas, interiors and architecture event debuted in May at an exciting new location on Sydney’s Glebe Island.
The highly anticipated feature of the show NEST 14, again curated by Anne-Maree Sargeant + produced by THE SNAP COLLECTIVE, proved to be the most popular installation at the event – shining a spotlight on some of the most dynamic independent Australian design practices.
NEST14 unveiled new furniture, lighting and design products to retailers, architects, interior designers, architects and assembled media, in all, attracting around 10,000 visitors during the 3 day event.
Now in its third year, NEST14 celebrates some of the country’s most progressive design studios and this year included Christopher Boots, Anaesethetic, Andre Hnatjoko (lab de stu – above), Andrew Simpson, and the Sydney debut of the stunning collection by Porcelain Bear (below).
Emerging designer Rowen Wagner launched his eponymous brand with an exquisite collection of table-top containers made from solid Merbau with polished brass lids, and a walnut modular desk calendar featuring a solid copper date cube.
The new collection is completed by the wall-leaning GRANDSON CLOCK, and the production version of the hugely popular MANTIS COTHES RACK – soon to be released in a limited edition polished gold finish.
