I remember when Siri was 10mos old I was house arrested, felt like I cannot do anything but just stay home with my child. I blamed myself for not being a good mother as I could NOT connect with her at all. I could not go out for a walk either with her not screaming like someone hurting her. I was very conscious of my neighbors as we lived in an apartment. Today, when I think about those days, feels like a nightmare. Now I have three beautiful children, two boys after Siri. Siri had come a very long way. She is hardworking, smart and loves to please. Her strength is her patience which she inherited from her dad. I started training her to make care packages to soldiers in basic training and that turned into a jewelry making business for her. She had improved drastically soon after this and we finally got connected as a mom and a daughter. She is more focused now and I am confident that I can teach her anything if I have to. Her self esteem increased a lot. Siri has been very happy ever since my in-laws arrived the other day. Usually she gets extremely anxious when we do anything out of her regular schedule. We wouldn’t talk anything that would make her anxious but now there is nothing we talk behind her. Now that we know that she can understand everything we treat her more like an adult. Siri is enjoying every bit of the excitement and chores we are doing every single day. At the same time she wants to study with Jenny. She wants to go out to movies and ice-cream with her. Jenny is her 1st friend ever. She too likes being with Siri and she wants to learn board communication to be able to talk with Siri.
