'Plump Thonet' is an outrageous interpretation of the 150 year old Viennese cafe classic 'No.18 Chair' by Gebrüder Thonet. Here the iconic No.18 backrest is retained and augmented with a rather plump seat made of soft black leather punctuated with 16 brass lined holes arranged in a grid, these helps define the location of the legs and are designed to receive the bend wood back rest. Delicate brass capped conical legs hit the floor providing support, whilst a wrap around brass arm rest helps unify the two disparate elements of seat and back.
