Probably both.
“...I took two ice cream containers. Thought I’d give one to you. But now I’m just going to eat it in front of you.”

“That’s one way of looking at it...You came out alive, and you seem to be plenty healthy.” Though there was something eating at the back of his mind. He was less surprised to find the man in front of him had actually gone to prison. Something about him just had that air. But something more..
“How long were you in for? I mean, most people can get a year or two, to decades, or just months. I’m curious. I hear the severity of people’s time there usually dictates the harshness of their experiences.”
“Prison isn't too bad, you’ve got a bed and they feed you.”
Crime themed starter sentences
“That’s all well and good, but you’re still incarcerated. You’re somewhere you’d honestly rather not be. Not even taking into consideration the dangers of the other inmates, diseases that float about in prisons.. “
It wasn’t as much the comment that caught him off guard, but the idea. Most people held prison in regard with some of the worst experiences, and having such a calm demeanor regarding it was unnerving, to say the least. To top it off, their tone, mood was so passive. Kakyoin full well understood having to deal with being incarcerated before. But this calm response wasn't what he expected in the least.
Why do I need to close my legs? If someones looking down there that's their own problem. I don't care what the see.
“ It’s polite to do so. Only a matter of generosity. “

Jolyne stood there unsure of what to do, stunned by his actions. While she was often propositioned by him he rarely ever touched her. She blinked, staring at him as he pulled away from her. Unsure of if she should hit him or smile. While she liked Annasui in some form his intensity made her reluctant.
---“...That was more forward than usual.”
"Give me another chance."
Jolyne was filled with anger, she felt betrayed and upset. She knew Annasui had feelings for her but she didn’t think he was so obsessive that he would try to manipulate her relationships.
—“Why should I?”
She sighed,
—“Annasui, I appreciate everything you’ve done for me but this is too far! You can’t just control who i associate with!”
