Monday we were on intern field trip once again thanks to Angela’s amazing professional network. This time the destination was Des Moines; The State Historical Museum of Iowa and The Des Moines Art Center. The picture above is from the Art Center and is an art installation that is a part of the “queer abstraction” exhibit. The colors of the art piece and the sky made me so happy!

My second day in Des Moines Jena and I went to the Des Moines Art Center. I didn’t buy this hat, but maybe I should go back!

Krunkwhich Ramen offered some really creative vegan options, including loaded tots and vegan Banh Mi Sandwich! Alas, apparently the placed closed in December 2019 due to overdue taxes among other issues. (You can find out more about that here.)
