Had he not have someone he considered a friend here, he would've steered clear from Lumiose. Along the way, he flung large water shurikens to put out the flames in his way. He didn't feel comfortable with leaving his 'children' behind anywhere, and carried them along as he skillfully maneuvered the city under chaos.
He arrives to the building that was in surprisingly decent condition despite chunks of it crumbled away. Since a Frogadier he had the crazy ability to jump up very high, and he uses this amplified skill to reach the second floor of the building and scurry about in search of Sycamore. He can swear that he hears his voice and follows it. There is an overpowering stench of burnt everything and though he is a nocturnal creature who sees well in the dark, flickering electricity is disorienting. Still, he is persistent in search of another opening and Sycamore.
(If this is too incoherent to reply to lemme know)
This Clemont is a retired gym leader and a wanderer
WELL THEN. Now that this Clemont has become Desolate Attempts!Clemont (dw he is here to permanently stay in the aftermath!), I had to make changes to his pages (About/rules and what not.) which are done now.
Emergency services escorted he and his family out of their home that was surely burnt or knocked down by now. He could take nothing with him but important blue prints and the clothes on his back. His pokemon that normally lounged around the home were put into the pc system for now, and his two trusty companions on his belt.
The Gym assigned pokemon always stay in the tower...
When the EMS had barged into his home, he was told the tower had fallen. Minutes after, unusual, unheard of earthquakes shook the house and the rest of the block. At that, he was pulled out with his family. He hadn't grabbed his blue prints himself, the workers did and tossed it in haste by him; showed their priorities. They weren't in an armored truck like the movies, just an ordinary van that moved quick enough and could handle bumpy destroyed roads.
He nor his younger sister were shielded from the sounds. The shaded windows hardly blinded the bright glow of dragon-like flames that lit up the sidewalks and shops, or the sight of hyper beams in the air. For once, he takes off his glasses.
And with the glasses, went his mind. He began to block out everything around him, even his own family momentarily. Though he was able to blind his eyes, he could not close heart to the despair crawling in. The feeling of uselessness quickly made it's way back. Uselessness and helplessness gone hand and hand. His birth town going to ruin, the tower he was trusted with fell, his work companions dead--they were probably scared and lonely. Mother dearest told him to take the day off today, and within hours...
...
Was it the right thing?
Doesn't matter now. It's done and past, and the van came to a halt in the beautiful route 4, doors opened.
He lays down slightly curled, but with his head on the lap of his mother, tears of whomever, sister or protector, falling onto his face as his hair is pet.
Itsuke saw the smoke from a distance and directly her Drifblim to change course. Lumiose... Lumiose City was burning. News reports started coming in on her shiny new Holo Caster. Pokemon running rampant... death toll rising... people and Pokemon both trapped under rubble and wreckage. Civilians were being urged to stay away.
So, of course, she was heading in. Her Pokemon were all ghosts; they couldn't die. And if she died, big deal. If there was one thing that added to Itsuke's characteristic recklessness, it was her opinion that being alive was overrated.
AZ hadn't initially been aware that anything had been happening in Lumiose. He was out wandering the country side, blissfully unaware of the chaos that was unfolding not far away. The distant noise though, and then the eventual faint smell of smoke, alerted him though. AZ tried to brush it off as just one of those things, before he walked into the next town.
Dendemille was abuzz needless to say. AZ heard the chatter of what was going on, and headed straight for the nearest PokeCenter. It was usual for him to hunt out TVs, but he needed to know what was going on. He didn't need to flip to the news, it was on on every TV.
AZ just stared and watched. The tower had collapsed. The city seemed badly damaged from what AZ could tell. The old king couldn't believe it. His face was pale, and a hand slowly went up to cover his mouth. And the Professor was to blame?
He let out a shaky sigh. How could something like this happen? How could Sycamore let something like this happen. His face darkened a bit with worry, before he turned and quickly left the Center.
Against his better judgement, he rushed as quickly as he could towards the crumbling city. It was times like this AZ wished he could fly on Golurk still.
He needed to see for himself. No crown was on his head, but sometimes he still felt like Kalos was his. And he didn't feel like he could allow himself to hide from this.
They're not the brightest bulb in the bunch, really. Or the most emotional.
They take the destruction of Lumiose in stride, watching all the way from Laverre City. They're worried, of course, because Lysandre Labs is there, and what would they do if Lysandre was crushed underfoot? But they hear no word of their Monsieur dying, so they pay no heed, leaving the TV on just in case news comes in.
Freakface watches, blinking slowly, and shakes its head on occasion. Something's bothering her, and they can't tell what, but it hasn't been the first time the Espurr has acted strangely.
So they wait it out, hoping that Lysandre Labs and the Boutique survive, and keep listening for their Monsieur's name, just in case.
At first, Diantha could not bring herself to believe her eyes.
When the sole of her heels are met with rubble and debris instead of what should have been a smoothly paved boulevard bustling with city life, when the images of fallen Pokémon and humans alike litter the once pristine, clean streets of Lumiose, rage began to fill her pure heart from deep within.
Tears threatened to spill over pale cheeks. But now was hardly the time to cry -- now was time to take action before things got worse. With a slow intake of air, Diantha managed to control herself. Taking care of the raging dragons that had flown overhead not too long ago was of highest priority. To let them spread even more damage and destruction was simply unacceptable.
Her Pokéballs rustled nervously within her purse, having sensed their trainer's abnormal amounts of discomfort and anger. Trembling fingers reached in to draw out her Gardevoir, who gracefully bowed before her when summoned. The Pokémon doesn't even spare the burning city a glance. She already knows. A soft, sad croon echoes from the Psychic type's mouth in worry, and Diantha offered a firm smile before leaning down to touch their foreheads together.
"Ysabel, you must help me."
It nodded without hesitation. A lithe arm reached up to touch her trainer's pallid cheek in reassurance. Gardevoir could sense the immense fear behind Diantha's act of strength. It couldn't be easy to witness one's birthplace go down in ruins right as it was happening. Ysabel knew she would feel the same if anything happened to Diantha.
Today had been planned to be productive: in the morning after a photo shoot in Coumarine, the actress was scheduled to film a commercial back in Lumiose to promote her upcoming movie. Upon her arrival, minutes before the attack, she had been discussing the matters of returning to the Battle Chateau with her producers when all too suddenly, the first attack had struck the building next to them.
Chaos had ensued shortly after. Her safety was prioritized and was evacuated out first with a team of coordinators and managers, but Diantha did not stand for such treatments when everyone's lives were at stake. Despite her manager's protests, Diantha had gone back into the burning building to help evacuate the injured.
Now, surrounded by the constant screams and wails of her people, the actress searched for the perpetrators. Eyes steeled with resolve, Diantha moved forward with Ysabel at her side.
It didn't take the Psychic type long to locate one of the four possessed dragons storming about. Ysabel bristled in anger at the sight of Garchomp dropping the lifeless form of a young Espurr that had fallen victim as if it were of no use to it. A hand to her neck stops the Pokémon from attacking the dragon on instinct.
The former Kalos Champion composed herself. If she wanted peace and order to be restored in her beloved city, then she would just have to get to the root of things one step at a time. She noticed the Garchomp had already undergone Mega-Evolution. What in Arceus' name happened, Augustine?
"No matter. We will do the same." A touch to her necklace that held the Mega ring synchronized both trainer and Pokémon's hearts. Power surged around the concentrating Gardevoir with ease. A blast of energy helped the creature evolve into her ultimate form, enveloped in grace and beauty. A glance to her trainer signaled that she was ready. Diantha nodded back.
