only realizing now the bracket is over the Girl From Nowhere would've been a PERFECT fit for the desolation. It's a show about a being in the form of a teenage girl who goes from school to school pushing people into acting horribly and making life ruining decisions, but only by their own making. She never *makes* anyone do anything, and if you make the morally correct choice then she'll let you go free, but she sets up scenarios where people have more personal gain from acting horrible and just. lets everything play out. She doesn't ruin these people's lives, she lets *them* ruin their own lives. It's peak desolation and even if i don't think it'd win (as it's not super well known) i'm sad i didn't remember to submit it

Stadium Fire (Consumer And Safety Institute) (1999) …I don't want to just copy and paste the Desolation film propaganda for this one, so I'll just say this: What makes this one stand out to me is that it uses real footage from the Bradford City fire, which claimed the lives of 56 people and injured at least 265.

Paper Family (USFS) (1987) It features a paper doll chain of a family igniting, illustrating how wildfires can easily spread from forests to nearby communities. "More and more families are moving closer and closer to our forests. That's why if you're careless with fire in the forest, you can burn a lot more than trees."
