Adell the Psycho: You ready for an interview now or should we do it another time?

Adell the Psycho: Well, you're the unlucky first victim! But that's to be expected in the Despair Game isn't it?

Adell the Psycho: How did you feel when you find out your character died?

bijouly.: uh well i kind of...had a feeling this would happen...

Adell the Psycho: What makes you say that?

bijouly.: i dont really know!! i just had a premonition??

Adell the Psycho: Hmm, its too bad she was the first victim. Koemi was a cutie, the littlest one, haha.

Adell the Psycho: If Koemi became a murderer instead of a victim, do you have any idea what her punishment would have been?

bijouly.: something to do with singing, obviously! she'd sing while the punishment was going on, regardless of what it was! and she'd sing until the end, definitely. i wouldn't want it to mirror maizono's possible execution, though, haha

bijouly.: beaten to death with a huge microphone by monobear?? i dont know

Adell the Psycho: Do you know the name Gnilley?

Adell the Psycho: Maybe it could have been something like that. She'd have to keep singing to keep herself from being executed.

Adell the Psycho: But the moment she falters, bam, dead!

bijouly.: Ah, that'd be a great one!

Adell the Psycho: So, once the first trial is over and done with, the second island is going to be unlocked and you can roam as a ghost there. Do you still plan on interacting as a spectre?

bijouly.: Well, I'm assuming they can hear her, since her song is what led most to the crime scene! But yes, I'm planning on interacting! I didn't get to do a lot with her when she was alive, mostly my fault (all my fault).

bijouly.: I could name some people, like Zino! Siblingtp.

Adell the Psycho: Oh yes the song. That makes her a siren now, doesn't it?

Adell the Psycho: xD

bijouly.: Wow, I guess it does!

Adell the Psycho: Haha, I forgot my next question. I should really write these down.

Adell the Psycho: So, any guesses as to who your killer is?

bijouly.: Uh. Huh.

bijouly.: I'd say Abi but too obvious, she probably had that planeted on her and I think we were told she couldn't kill?

bijouly.: Maybe Sukeban?? idk she doesnt know anyone enough to have them

Adell the Psycho: Well, she COULD kill but she chooses not to because its boooring

bijouly.: So we can scratch her off?

bijouly.: Unless you're plan is to

bijouly.: the person was really dumb in choosing who to kill imo

bijouly.: We have a shsl genius who, with their level of intellect, would probably not have that hard of a time pinpointing the murderer. Bad news for the killer.

An analyst who could double as a detective on the scene. Also bad news.

bijouly.: basically,

Adell the Psycho: True. But seeing as Koemi is the littlest, maybe they wanted a sure easy kill by targetting the weakest

Adell the Psycho: AKA, the Chihiro

bijouly.: Yes, but Chihiro was killed in a fit of emotion and rage, not because of him being the littlest.

bijouly.: Also, they wouldn't have gone so far if it was supposed to be an easy kill?

bijouly.: Chopped her right up.

bijouly.: Opened her BRAIN.

Adell the Psycho: I know right?

bijouly.: Maybe the Yandere did it?

Adell the Psycho: It was really elaborate

bijouly.: I mean Yandere has killed before...

bijouly.: I don't know!!!!

bijouly.: I just feel that

bijouly.: killing singer

bijouly.: wasn't a good move.

bijouly.: I'm not even saying this

Adell the Psycho: I agree. It's like killing the mouse in the rat cage

Adell the Psycho: Doesn't make sense at all

Adell the Psycho: But one thing is for sure, the truth is hidden in the clues

bijouly.: Of course!!!

Adell the Psycho: So any words for your classmates who will be investigating your death?

Adell the Psycho: Excuse me, your character's death I mean

Speaking up and having a voice isn’t always enough

When people don’t listen even when you’re yelling

You have to do something to get their attention.

It could be something simple such as tapping shoulders

Or you might need to put on a show for them.

  But if you really want people’s attention, you do a crime.

People will take more notice of those who had done wrong

Than those who had done right because it makes them good.

They will think that they aren’t as bad as the criminal

So they pay attention to you because, compared to them,

You are scum that should be put down like the bastard you are.

  Monobear, what are you saying? You ask me in confusion.

I’m not sure either but I got your attention with my words.

Perhaps having a voice is all you need after all.

It's a game of Doubt, Death and Despair

The victim has been informed.

Who's up for a stroll? [Open]

It was so odd, to Ayumu, to be woken by something as mundane as sensation when he was so accustomed to it being sound that stirred him. Yet it was the sense of sand, of grit and unpleasant heat, that brought him to.

He was lying face down on a sandy beach of some kind. Immediately he drank in the sounds as his normal habit—waves, sea birds, the rustling of clothing. He pulled a face before twitching otherwise, not quite yet wanting anyone else present to know he was awake. He was wearing baggy cargo pants, and the sand had managed to get into them as well.

He arranged his expression into its normal smooth smile, not able to mask his confusion but not really trying to. He was simply trying not to put on the sour expression and show what he felt like. He would never get all this sand off him without a shower. As this was no doubt someone’s idea of a hazing or a prank, that seemed to be a long time off.

At least it hadn’t given him a headache, whatever they’d done to get him—and the rest—there. Wherever there was.

That voice. He winced, holding his head. It was grating, robotic. It sounded so very artificial.

Well. That much would be because it was from an artificial thing, apparently. A gaudy robot bear. It talked for more than long enough for him to memorize the tones, the cadences, the all-important pauses and word choices. Not that he would want to copy it; it was terrible. Yes, definitely a manner of prank.

An elaborate, overdone prank.

As if anyone at our level would actually kill anyone else, he scoffed mentally. The very idea was absurd.

Yet…was it? They were a group of highly driven teenagers, all of them with the ambition and ability to do extraordinary things. If this weren’t a prank, if it were real…something in his eyes flashed, then faded. Would he? He didn’t know. It wasn’t something one recovered from, if it became public.

Image. Think of your image. That tore it, really. There was no way he could continue on as he was with a dark secret of that level hanging over him. People would find out. This sort of thing always comes out eventually.

There. Even if this was real, he wouldn’t do it. That settled it. And, he was forced to conclude after a while, it was best to act as if it was. That was the one thing the odd stuffed—robotic?—bear with the terrible paint job had said that he trusted. Better safe than sorry. Act like it was real for now, and possibly have a laugh at yourself later. It was better than dying because you couldn’t accept reality.

Really, he thought as he stood and brushed himself off, though it did nothing for much of the sand that clung to his skin under his clothes, best to adapt for now. Just in case…

He patted himself down to check for the ID Card and found it in his jacket pocket. Not so bad for him, but what about some of the others with less conservative outfits?

Not that he wanted to voice that and cue any outraged yells or shrieks ahead of time.

"Well then," he said cheerfully, deliberately tuning his voice to be a comforting and innocent-sounding one, resolving to flip through the rules later and tucking the device back away. "Nothing's to be solved by standing around here. I suggest we go explore, find out more about our surroundings. After the required introductions, of course--I'm sure none of us know absolutely everyone here by name and face already."

There probably was at least one person who did, now that he'd said that. Oh well.

"I wouldn't be so forward as to say that without introducing myself, of course," he gave a light bow. "Amagawa Ayumu. I'm here for my vocal talents, naturally. Pleased to meet you all."

01. Normal Days: When an SHSL Paradise turns into an SHSL Hellhole

The sounds of gulls and the smell of the ocean start to rouse you gently until cold water splashes you in the face, making your awakening more violent. In a panic, you sit up and find yourself on a sunny beach. Aside from the fact that you don’t remember arriving in such a place or even falling asleep, the scene is somewhat beautiful and peaceful. The last thing you remember is being on a boat, well on your way to your exclusive island campus.

Shaking off the sand from your hair, shorts and shoes and just about every place they managed to get into, you quickly realize you are not alone.

Along with you are several other high school aged students, all also waking up from their slumber. You might recognize some of them – they being other new students of Hope’s Peak, the so called Super High School Level students, and the hope of Japan. They also happen to be your classmates because you happen to be one of them!

Some of the others start to introduce themselves (maybe even approach those who they knew, either from earlier history or because the person was someone whose name they knew through fame). You could introduce yourself too if you wanted, that’s completely up to you.

It’s all confusing but you don’t really have time to process it and delve too deep into the situation all when a voice pipes up. Hooked up precariously to a palm tree on one side of the beach is a monitor. A strange looking bear with a cocktail is displayed on the screen and greets you all.

“Is this thing on, hello? Hello you bastards! Finally awake eh?”

“What’s with all the long faces? Cheer up, your Headmaster commands it!” he continues with a laugh. “Oh yes, I am the Headmaster of the prestigious Hope’s Peak Academy, Monobear. So welcome to Jabberwock Island, you bastards! You have been selected to be enrolled here because you are the best of the best! Isn’t this campus nice? I think so anyway. You better think so too because, starting from now on, you will all live a communal lifestyle with each other on these islands for the rest of your lives.”

Being told by what seems to be a stuffed toy that you’re stuck here might be disconcerting, some of you will probably think its all one big joke too. But the bear continues on; “Don’t worry! You will be provided with the basic necessities and more. Just know that you are all now dead to the outside world. You are also provided a Student Electronic Card I’ve taken the liberty on placing on your person. You can see the school rules along with some other interesting stuff there such as a map of the campus and your personal information... although I guess that’s only useful if one of you bastards get amnesia. It’s not like you’re a gamer learning about your player character for the first time, upupu.” 

His words must be sinking into your heads now and he lets out a cruel laugh. “If you don’t like it, well tough luck! There is only one way and one way alone off this rock! And that is GRADUATION!” Whether someone asks what graduation is or not, the bear explains anyway. “How do you graduate you ask? Well, you have to pass a test; easy peasy. And that test is... to break the peace, kill a fellow student and get away with it!”

“I know that this is all too much for your heads so I’ll leave you all alone to do as you please for now. You may consult your Student Electronic Cards for the other rules. Oh, don’t worry, you’ll all be seeing more of me in the near future...” he informs you all in a patronizing voice, a wide grin on his face, before waving at what must be the camera. “Monobear OUT!”

The monitor turns dark and it is silent once more.

This icon will appear every time we have a Checkpoint! So here's your first checkpoint, kiddies. It's easy enough... Have fun! Make open RPs. Feel free to look around the Central and the Northwestern Island. Gaze upon the glorious Mount Monomore if you want! Get to know your classmates and your surroundings; you don't know when that might just save your life. You should be following 25 people now too; 24 of your classmates and myself.

You will see there Nickname and a Captcha. That's all you need to worry about.

Enter and you're in the chat!

Extra Steps: If you want to password protect your nickname, you can do the following: 

Type in /ns register PASSWORD EMAIL

You will receive an email from IRC where there is a command you have to copy paste. Do that and the nickname will be yours and yours alone.

To authenticate you go: /ns identify PASSWORD

And that's it! The link I gave is the easiest way to access the IRC channel. You can use other programs like MIRC, Ice Chat or Chatzilla (a Firefox addon) if you want.

If any of you students want to have one, just give me a color (and your character's name in Japanese if you have a specific set of katakana/hiragana in mind) along with a picture of your character that you want to be used (preferably with plain background or rendered).
