You are a menace to my sleep cycle! New pieces of the DA-verse every time I check and I don't want to miss a thing! 😍
I would love to hear more about Blade sometime.
When did Ransom and Kitten find out how smart he is?
How did it affect his schooling and socialization? (He seemed self conscious about the glasses and speech "I don't wike it")
What was his time hanging out at the Jensen's like? (You mentioned he has (had?) a crush on Kira Jensen)
What was the college experience that gave him his new *ahem* confidence?
How did he get recruited by the FBI?
There's so much you shared about his sisters, he's getting over looked! Classic middle child syndrome though... 😉
😂 I'm sorry! I know it's hard to keep up with, and then since the timeline is bouncing from when the kids are younger to when they're older it does get a bit confusing!
My poor little Bladey! He does get overlooked from his sisters because he doesn't have the big personality that they do. He is a bit quiet, and a bit shy. So let's I guess a bit of a head canon for this cutie.
Harlan was the first one who noticed that Blade was gifted. While he didn't have the imagination of Story, he was really good with numbers, but also, due to the help of Uncle JJ, was good with computers. His interest are similar to Jake's although Blade lacks the big personality, although he is awkward like Jake.
So when the school asked to speak with Ransom and Kitten, they knew exactly what they were walking into. They wanted Blade to remain with his friends, but were not opposed to additional classes. In a family where you're the only boy, you are already singled out, and Blade struggled with feeling different anyways. He was in third grade when he was tested. So instead of moving him up grades, he had additional courses while in school.
At first this negatively impacted Blade. Again, he struggled with being different (his speech, stuttering, glasses, and being an introvert) and Kitten was ready for him to go back to being just a regular kid. Blade's happiness is hers and Ransom's first priority. But Uncle JJ wanted him to be able to explore his intelligence, so offered to get him into other activities that did not include his intelligence.
Jake and Blade are big gamers, but they also love some D&D, this helped with Blade's imagination, speech, and even self confidence. Jake saw a lot of himself in Blade. Kira was the one that had the big crush on Blade. Blade was always timid in general, and Kira scared him at first, because she's her mother daughter, and is very aggressive. So with time, they just became friends, but Kira still feels that it's her duty to protect Blade (he's hers to protect).
Blade got into a bit of self medicating with edibles. His mind typically goes a mile a minute, so it helps him mellow out. During that time he also met another, that is Story's friend Jenny, he never thought much about Jenny growing up, but seeing her as an adult, they really started to explore each other, and when they broke up...it wasn't long until other girls at school were willing to "comfort" him.
Sweet Blade might have been told that there's no way that he couldn't hack into the FBI's system. He proved them wrong, and instead of arresting him, they recruited him to create firewalls for them. It's his "hobby"
Blade is still really close with Story. Their relationship revolves around her being able to talk, and he listens. So when she gets into trouble, a newly buffer and confident Blade is real quick to jump to her defense, and be the one to help keep her from trouble.
so Iris and Story has a tiff, but what Iris's relationship with Aster? What was there relationship like when James went MIA?
So for a timeline reference, Story and Iris do not get at odds until after James comes home. Story is 18 when her and Iris get into it, making Iris 24 and James 25. By this time Posie is almost 2. James goes MIA when he's 21, Iris is 20, he's found before he turns 23. So her whole family is there for her. Could you imagine finding out you're pregnant and can't even tell the baby's father, because he's MIA? So Story is 14 at that time, and very much into helping her sister, but during this time Aster and Iris become really close! They've always been relatively close, but we're talking sleeping in the same bed together. Aster is the one that goes to the ultrasounds with her. Any birthing class, she's with her. She takes up the role of James, while he's missing. And she tries to be the positive one. The sad thing is, is when Iris isn't around, Aster breaks down. A few times she goes to Uncle Airy, because he just gives her the best hugs. He holds her like she's a little bitty baby, and once she feels good enough to put on her brave face, she goes back to Iris.
Iris and Story get into it, because Story is going through some things, and lashes out. That will be explored at a later date. Iris is extremely protective of her mom, and she holds on tight to that grudge. She's going through some things at home as well. Dealing with a toddler, her husband is still working through his PTSD, but he's very scared to touch Iris. He's afraid he will hurt her or Posie. So Iris is going through things, and is extremely frustrated. She's not usually the one to hold onto a grudge, that title belongs to Miss Aster, so it's very out of character for Iris to hold onto that grudge.
Aster spending so much time with Iris is another reason her and Scott just didn't work out. While he was patient at first, he becomes frustrated with the amount of times she spends there. When she can't be there for Iris, Story is. Blade is extremely overwhelmed with all of it, but he is really good at sitting and listening to problems.
I hope this sort of cleared some things up...I know the timeline is all over the place with these drabbles.
