Howdy and also my commiserations! I've only recently heard about the new information being unlocked towards December's case, and I'm sure it must be hard for you what with work and all that and whatnot.

No amount of “calming tea” can help her face this.
Carol takes a deep breath. Before her is the letter sent through Rudy’s inbox, weeks ago, while he was taking a new treatment.
She couldn’t read through it at first -- as soon as she saw the words ‘new information being unlocked towards December’s case,’ she had to pull herself away from it.
The new information in question?
Some kids reported to Officer Undyne that they found the bunker door open. Further inspection indicated that there was no tampering of the locks from the outside. No, not at all. They were opened from the inside.
The bunker itself, however, remained empty.
The mayor kept the new developments to Dess’s case between herself and Toriel. That must have been how the information reached Asriel.
She couldn’t tell her husband or daughter about it. What if it worked them into excitement, driving their hope in seeing their daughter and sister again, only to have nothing come of it?
She couldn’t risk Rudy getting more ill.
...only the Angel knows how it could affect Noelle.
Was there... newer information to the case found? Carol knows she can’t avoid reading the letter if she wants to find out.
Her tense shoulders reminds her that the man who’d give her a quick massage to relieve her tension is missing from their home. She grips her mug with both hands to finally -- finally -- read through the letter.
... ... ...
…oh.
It’s just a reminder from Asriel to take care of herself. Maybe it was a sign from the Angel that she really does need a break.
The question remains lingering: can Dess… still really be out there??

The blog I interact with him the most is @dessemberholiday, so I'll aim the positivity there (though I'll never get tired of @theheartofahero's "asspants shitmayor" tag XDDD) He's hilarious and we fanboy over our Holiday family headcanons a lot. I love how his take on Dess just... adores her father so damn much. It warms my little heart. ;-; His narrative voice makes his replies always fun to read, too!
“You know, Dess? Your mom and I thought you’d be a gymnast someday. Can you believe it?!”
He leans over to his daughter, giving her that smile -- the one that he gives before preparing to tell one of his stories.
He strokes his goatee in an exaggerated attempt to look like he’s struggling to remember the moment. “Ah, yes. It’s as fresh to me as the feeling of your hoof smacking my face!”
“Back before we moved into our big house, we lived in a tiny two-bedroom apartment. Mom used the spare room as an office, so we were all sleeping in the master bedroom. I’d say you were... two?? Small enough to still be sleeping between your mom and dad.” He chuckles. “I’m tellin’ ya, you wiggled and wobbled like a caterpillar every night. Must have been dreamin’ about future adventures!”
”One night, we put your head on a pillow for bedtime. You wiggled so much, you flipped upside-down and... BAM! Did the splits and kicked both our faces in!” He bursts out in laughter. “Must have been helicopter-kicking a baddie in Dreamland!”
