Safe Landing

Ladies and gentlemen thank you for taking this journey with me. We have safely landed at our destination wedding. You made the right choice by choosing a destination wedding. Enjoy your wedding day and all the wonderful new adventures that come along with being apart of the new team you and your spouse will be building.

Finding your soul mate and being head over heels in love is something most if not all of us wish to accomplish. I wish you nothing but the best on this new adventure you are about to embark on. Enjoy your stay and spread the word about the smooth your flight was, no turbulence.

Attire

With the increasing popularity of Caribbean destination weddings, knowing how to dress for a beach wedding is very important. Though some are very set on dressing formally for their wedding and having their guests dress formally beach weddings are known to have a more relaxed dress code. Starting with the bride and groom who ditch the heels and dress shoes and replace them with sandals or foot jewellery. The bride usually chooses a wedding gown made out of thinner, breathable material as to not overheat during her ceremony. The groom may wear only his pants, button up shirt and the vest instead of the full three-piece suit. The grooms men would wear short-sleeve button up shirts, some may even wear shorts and the brides maids would trade in a long dress for a short one or a flowing dress.

 As for the guests, female guests usually go for a comfortable flowing floral dress to match the tropical landscape that surrounds them and sandals instead of heels. It is said that colourful clothing make people feel more vibrant and willing to participate in whatever event they will be attending, for example, a wedding. Male guests wear dress pants with just a button up long sleeve shirt, some beach weddings the male guest may even wear a button up floral shirt. This type of wedding attire makes the guests feel more at ease. Not only may it be less expensive but definitely more comfortable. Loose, breathable clothing makes people feel freer. This is beneficial for the wedding reception because comfort leads to more dancing and having fun. As the reason for everyone coming together, you definitely want your guests to have a memorable experience at your wedding. Don’t be afraid to stray from the regular wedding dress codes.

One for the History Books

A wedding day holds so much significance for most people. We want it to be as memorable as possible. A destination wedding provides the opportunity to experience a new place with your spouse and your family and friends, who stick around after the wedding. A new country means new culture and new food to try. If you are someone who loves traveling and trying new things then this is your opportunity to make new connections and learn about the culture. If you and your spouse are of different ethnicity or culture, having your wedding in the country they are from will help you understand and relate better. Creating an even stronger bond between the two of you.

This will also give you the opportunity to meet their family members who live there and may not be able to travel. Planning a fun group or couple excursions will help to make your wedding and honeymoon unforgettable. After your wedding, you can visit once at least once a year for your anniversary and reconnect with the new friends you have made. Adding new memories to the everlasting memories created on that magic day. A destination wedding tries to focus on the beauty of the place you have chosen. Using mountains and unique floral arrangements to capture your heart and also the hearts of your guests, leaving them in awe and making them want a destination wedding of their own. Therefore, when planning your wedding don’t be dull, choose to be historic and unforgettable.

Take the Edge Off

Having a destination wedding takes the stress of all the planning off your shoulders, leaving you to spend more time enjoying the journey you are about to embark on as newlyweds. With a traditional wedding, you have to worry about where your ceremony will be, where the reception will be, where everyone will stay, etc. With a destination wedding, everything happens right on the resort. With the group packages offered by most resorts, everyone can stay in one place, putting the bride and groom’s brain at ease.

Your destination wedding also becomes a vacation for anyone that attends. Who turns down a vacation? You have now provided everyone with the perfect excuse to take time off work and go on vacation. Everyone can take advantage of the all-inclusive experience being offered to them, fun activities and group excursions. As the newlyweds, you can rotate between doing private couple activities and spending time with friends and family. You can also make your attire a little less formal, trade your heels in for flats or go bare feet and feel the sand between your toes.

The biggest benefit of a destination wedding is that there will be absolutely no fighting about who gets the hometown advantage. Is the love of your life from a different city? Can you foresee a huge fight about what city the wedding will be in? Well, just make everyone travel to you! You don’t want to start your new journey off on the wrong foot.

 Being able to choose your dream location for your wedding is a huge benefit of having a destination wedding. Having a hard time finding a location for your wedding?  Here are three of the top countries chosen for destination weddings and honeymoons in 2018:

1.     Jamaica

Jamaica is the site of many luxurious all-inclusive resorts. Many of these resorts offer complimentary wedding packages and wedding decorations created by using the natural beauty of the island.                Dreams That Don’t Hurt Your Pockets

          So much excitement comes with a proposal, often times that excitement dies down when you start planning and  realize how much money it costs to make your dream wedding a reality. The average cost of a traditional wedding in Canada is $30,000 (What to Expect: Average Wedding Costs 30k in Canada, 2018). The venue itself can take up ½ of your wedding cost and the rest split up between flowers, decoration, food, music, cutlery, etc. This $30,000 doesn’t include the money spent on your honeymoon.

           All of us want our wedding day to be perfect but find it hard spending thousands of dollars on one event. We start to think about all the other things we can use the money to do. Like buy a car, pay some bills, and go shopping (there is no such thing as too much clothes and shoes!). Now, instead of enjoying your wedding planning, here you are trying to find ways to save some money. Nobody wants to be broke or in debt after their big day.

           An easy solution to this big expense is a destination wedding. Did you know that at some all inclusive resorts, when you book a hotel stay longer than 5-7 days you can get a complementary wedding. Yes, you’re reading correctly! Free! I don’t know about you, but anything free is for me! Even if a complementary wedding isn’t offered at the resort you choose, most wedding packages start as low as $1000 and the price increases depending on the number of people who will be attending and any other specific detail you request. Wedding packages usually include a venue for the ceremony and the reception, food and beverages, music, decorations. Resorts also offer group discounts to accommodate your wedding guests. You get your dream wedding without hurting your pockets.
