1. If you could learn any foreign (or fictional/invented) language, what would it be and why?
Sign language. Just because I think it would be a good thing to know, and also because the idea of talking entirely with my hands is? a super cool one?
2. What is a fictional character who has had a lasting impact on your personality, world view, or morality - and how?
Not a single fictional character, really, but the ladies of Tamora Pierce's Tortall series. They were likeable and funny and clever and strong, they did what they thought was best. And they had something the protagonists of many of the fantasy books I had read and loved didn't have. They were girls. Girls who were quite often my age at one point in their stories or another. Girls who I identified with incredibly heavily. Girls who gave me the foundations for my current beliefs regarding feminism. Girls who told me that you could be a girl and like to wear dresses and smooch boys and also be a total stone-cold badass who doesn't take shit from anyone. I owe a lot to that!
3. What is your favorite thing to write?
You wouldn't believe this from my writeblog, but I really enjoy reading and writing silly domestic short stories. Stories where goofing off happens? More like, yes. Also, I love the shit out of supercomplex worldbuilding.
4. Favorite pizza toppings?
Defs meat lovers. Especially if there is something like chorizo involved. And cheese. Lots and lots of cheese.
5. Out of the classical (Greek and Latin) authors, whose work do you most wish had survived in its entirety?
Martial is hilarious. What a sassbasket.
6. You know you have names picked out for your future pets. What are they?
I want to name a cat "Minerva" pretty badly.
7. What is a book or movie that disappointed you, and how?
The Golden Compass. [YELLS INTO THE DISTANCE THAT WAS SUCH A TERRIBLE BUTCHERING OF ONE OF MY FAVOURITE BOOKS]
8. What is a topic about which you’re particularly passionate?
Don't talk to me about theories. Just. Don't.
9. Favorite ridiculous cliche or trope?
The one where people do dumb shit like split up.
10. How are your bookshelves organized?
Not at all, really. Large books on the bottom shelf, comics and DVDs on the left side of the second shelf from the top.
11. Favorite snack food?
Salted cashews or museli bars.
