Set in the beautiful gardens of That Luang Stupa, Haw Thammasapha, is one of the grandest buildings in Vientiane. The Buddhist Convention Hall was built to celebrate 450 years since Vientiane became the Capital City in the 1560s.

MEKONG ISLAND & IRRAWADDY DOLPHINS South of Khong Island (the largest in Laos) is the Four Thousand Islands, or Si Phan Done in Lao. This area of extraordinary beauty is known for its fine food-especially fish dishes-distinct temple architecture and warm hospitality. On Don Det and Don Khon, remnants of an early 20th century railway and steamship port can be visited. KATAMTOK WATERFALL Rushing forth off the Bolaven Plateau and cascading 100 meters down into deep pools, Katamtok is one of least known but most spectacular waterfalls in Laos. It is the Huay Katam River that emanates from the thick jungle behind, only to leave its sleepy enclave for this roaring juncture on this journey.
