The Crash
Lunis had been on her way back from a routine patrol when it happened. Bright blasts slowly lit up the sky. She thought she had more time. Then, a much larger blast was soon heard. Her ship rattled and shook as it was ripped violently from the sky. She went down hard. After a time, she opened her eyes, not even realizing that she had closed them in the first place. She slowly began to realize what had happened. Her Ghost had saved her again. She made her way out of what was left of her ship and looked around. She coughed and squinted toward the direction of the blast. She watched as the Almighty slowly disintegrated into a flaming pile of rubble landing somewhere in the mountains a short distance away from her. She was glad everything was taken care of and everyone could feel at ease, at least for a time. The dust began to clear and her ears were ringing from the blast. She let out a sigh of relief with one less thing to worry about. She then turned her attention to her now completely wrecked ship. There was no saving it. She would most likely have to get a new one. Another rather heavy sigh escaped her lips as she made her way back home. It was going to be a long walk.
