Menina Totem

A 7 foot tall elongated sculpture following the minimalistic approach to the de.table.ization idea of taking apart a table and then constructing this Menina with the bare minimum elements that will still read Menina. distilling the fluff to still be able to recognize the piece as a Menina. The essential elements are the curvature of the princess-like skirt, the shape of the hairdo, the collar-like off the shoulder piece and the allegoric hoop skirt in this case achieved with a coiling snake found at the local hardware store. other elements of interest are the neck piece, made of found air conditioning pipe and the skirt voile made of frilly pint tulle.
