it wasn’t a joke but she’s suddenly self-conscious . there are , like , a lot of rich people who don’t let their kids out off of the grounds of the massive hotel that they lived in until after they’ve turned eighteen ( not counting the times she snuck out ) , right ? because it’s not safe for them . maybe she shouldn’t tell people that her mama had kept her tucked deep away for most of her life . they always seem to react the same way & it always seems to make her feel like she’s said something wrong . like she’s revealed something bad about her life when she mostly has good memories , ultimately . just lonely ones .   ❛   there’s not really anything to unpack i don’t think . it was for my own safety because of her fans & stuff , like , if they got all crazy & tried to hurt me if they knew about me . she used to be super famous you know & a lot of people come to see her sing at the hotel . plus she couldn’t , like , leave & it had gotten really bad by the time i was born so , like , we could’t really leave anyway , you know ? but , like , i had a lot of fun still ! i had tutors that i could play pranks on & my mama’s bodyguard loved us , he still loves us , he’s still with my mama after all these years . his name is bluud , it’s a nickname but he’s never told me his real name .   ❜   there’s a long pause before she looks down at her feet , a question on the tip of her tongue that kind of scares her .   ❛   . . . it’s , like , not that crazy , right ?   ❜

                      finley tries his best to stay away from cops, agents, and detectives. his career path doesn’t exactly bode well with their laws and rules. he’s often found trespassing, digging up confidential information, hacking into security cameras that belonged to the state. he’s only been arrested a handful of times, but fin knew it was better to avoid the authorities altogether. ‘ freelancer? ’ fin questions, his camera at his side, though it was still rolling. ‘ cool, cool. no offense or anything, but i work alone. so if you don’t mind, i can snoop around for a little bit, get what i need, and then it’s all yours. deal? ’     @detectivehimbo.

It was an incredible cruelty to toy with another’s mind. A fact that made Donna feel nauseous with guilt in her more lucid moments. This, however, was not one of those times. 

A woman would appear before Sebastian. Mundane in every way imaginable. Clothing drab browns and linens. Face unremarkable. Unrememberable almost. Yet, this figure was desperate. She broke toward him in a run as she rounded a tree so laden with snow it was near bent double. The Beneviento estate had been barren of life before and somehow she was here, weeping, voice a croak as she tried to speak.

“You must help me, please! The beast men toppled our cart and dragged my husband away! See! I need your help.”

‘She’ gestured madly at a crumpled wagon, it’s edges almost fuzzy in appearance as it sat half buried in the snow. Huge rents marred the wood where struts had been torn clean from the hinges. Dots of red in the snow confirmed the woman’s narrative and smeared into red divots that ran deeper into thick woodland. 

The true puppeteer was nearby of course and watched the entire charade with a degree of sick amusement. Even if she were not so cloaked by her power, her rigid black on white silhouette was not so different from the disorienting forest. Squint and her snow powdered form was a long, thin branch reaching for winter’s sun. 

The illusion grappled at Sebastian, inching him closer toward an uncertain fate.
