Anne had been happy to be carefree and actually having a good time with another woman; she had so few other women as friends. She was caught up in her fun, and hadn't noticed that as she was holding the pillow over Erika's face, the other woman had slowly stopped moving and struggling. At last, when she'd stopped laughing and moved the pillow, she looked down and immediately became horrified, realizing what she'd done. "Erika... Erika?! Oh no, please, you can't be dead!"
But she was. Anne checked for a pulse, for vital signs, and the other woman had neither.
