Anna being from a timeline where the Phantom Thieves actually won would be peak, a girl who always stands for the truth finding out she's been living in a world of lies and that evil isn't always outwardly in your face and is sometimes hidden in the very fabric of society
Also is a great opportunity to have commentary on propaganda and such, learning how to discover and stand for the truth it, with how the world is going Star Detective has the best opportunity to tell some great lessons about the importance of knowledge and information 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Evil Leafy isn't something that I ever thought about that much but I quite enjoy the implications of Leafy's hatred born from being an outcast to all else manifesting into a horror that terrorises those who other her, never leaving them alone, hunting them down when they're just trying to have fun with their friends
Just Needle and Tennisball standing their ground against her, demanding that she stop terrorising them and their friends and to leave them alone that caught my attention!! Also enjoyed those two choosing to prioritise fighting for the sake of being able to have fun with their friends instead of tearing them themselves apart in the name of proving their worth
I've only seen one person point out that Pochitan knows everything that's happening. Whenever the Phantom Thieves still a treasure she always takes Anna and Mikuru there to solve the crime. Like she's been through everything before and is guiding Anna and Mikuru through.
I have some thoughts but tbh I'm not super sure what to make from this😭😭 Interesting to point out but something bad happens to warrant taking Anna 28 years to the past.
"Don't Make Assumptions": Making assumptions on Cure Eclair
This week we got to meet a Cure Eclairling and she brought along a message about not making assumptions, just because you believe or think something doesn't make it true? Could she be Cure Eclair??
They do look alike
Shikuru has similar eyes, she's blue, she has the same star motif as her earring, she even has a sunhat reminiscent of Eclair's! And most importantly, THE HAIR, her hair is long, blue and is designed very intentionally to lead you on.
Shikuru is designed to make you assume she's Cure Eclair and that's exactly why I don't think she is the same person. Looks too much like her.
Do the other Cures look so alike in their civilian forms?
I don't think so.
I'm choosing to leave Shikuru as a red herring for who Cure Eclair could possibly be!
Star Detective episode 5 was great!!! It also made me take me more note of Anna's loneliness and now I'm wondering if shared loneliness is going to be a big part of her befriending Cure Arcana Shadow
Hmmmm messing around with the idea that since Pochitan could've sent Anna back in time so Mikuru wouldn't have given do everything alone, the Phantom Thieves somehow prevented Cure Eclair from ever transforming and knowing who she really is supposed to be so she could never help Luluka...
Mikuru was given her pendant for her Jewel Cure Watch (Totally wasn't about to call it a Star Colour Pendant, nuh-uh!)
But yeah Mikuru was given her pendant from her grandma, Anna randomly found her pendant in her room and well all know Mikuru is probably totally definitely Anna's mum, so do you think that's literally her own pendant from her grandma she left in Anna's room and that it's the exact same family heirloom??? That's actually so cute
Star Detective PreCure Theory: Cure Eclair, The Phantom Spy?

It is commonly agreed that there is some sort of connection between Cure Eclair this member of the Phantom Thieves who's apparently called Niiji?
And I agree! I believe they are the SAME person, but just how are they connected?
Well in a new teaser we can see Niiji holds one of the Makoto Jewels the Cures will use to transform this season.
And this is the foundation the theory is built on because just why does Niiji have a Makoto Jewel?
Well I have a theory that Cure Eclair (No civilian name, so sad) and Luluka aka Arcana Shadow were a detective duo working towards becoming Pretty Cure.
Eclair was able to achieve this goal with the help of the mysterious fairy, Shushutan.
Who looks so squishable omggggg but back on track.
The bond between Eclair and Shushutan gave birth to her transforming into a Cure! Yet was kidnapped by the Phantom Thieves, the two were separated and the thieves robbed Eclair of her memories, having her take on the identity of Niiji who's world is the Phantom Thieves and exists for the cause. She doesn't know any more than the world she has been given. She has the Makoto Jewels but doesn't know the truth of she holds it.
One day she finds that the Phantom Thieves hold a Jewel Cure Watch, the very trinket that Answer and Mystique use to transform, she inserts her Makoto Jewel inside and finds it works! She actually became a PreCure?
Niiji has the idea to use this new discovery to infiltrate the PreCure, becoming a spy. Over time she starts questioning what's happened, how did she transform into a Cure, where did her Makoto Jewel actually come from? Who was she before joining the Phantom Thieves? What's the truth and is she living a lie?
She, Answer and Mystique are on the case! The three unravel this mystery and learn the truth behind her past and search to find Shushutan, who's imprisoned deep within the lair of the Phantom Thieves who seek to take advantage of her power. The Cures rescue Shushutan and with the fairy back in Eclair's arms, her memories return and she sticks with the Pretty Cure. However her friend Luluka, who's been working with the Phantom Thieves as Cure Arcana Shadow doesn't join her, why?
(I'm still working on my Arcana Shadow theory soz🙏🙏 but her having a fortune telling fairy is so cool)
I find that Star Detective PreCure has a great opportunity to tell a story about the importance of knowledge and uncovering the truth, a theme highlighted in this rough storyline I've created for Cure Eclair where she discovers her world was a lie and makes it her mission to uncover the truth even if it means shattering everything she knows.
