"D-Damn right I'm gonna share it!" States the tiny cat sinner. Feeling a rush of confidence surge through her body. After turning herself around, Black Star proceeds to twerk in an attempt to show off. "Check it out!"

It seemed like every time she went to investigate another place that Eggman had popped up in, something seemed to happen. She either ran into someone that her old GUN contacts had warned her about or that they just happened to know. As such, at this new location- perhaps a front for Eggman to produce some new robot on the downlow- she grunted when someone bumped into her, one hand immediately reaching out to both steady them and put some distance between them. Her ears flicked and she took in the sight of a fellow Mobian. "You ok?"

Oh! A stranger is talking to her! Right, normal, how do people act normal.... "Really? Where do I get this peezah? What does it look like?"

"Oh, okay okay." The Diopside nodded apologetically, then looked around the interior of the Circus. They hadn't been sent on an adventure yet, but this place was so strange. "Is.. is that guy with the eyes in his mouth.. a real person?" She was asking about Caine, since Black Star had never met another person so strange in appearance.

Vaggie was headed for the kitchen when she saw Vex in the hallway; Charlie had been encouraging her to reach out more and act more like a manager than, well, a drill instructor. She greeted, "Hey, Vex. How are you doing today?"

It didn't sound nearly as stilted anymore and she seemed a bit more comfortable- marginally. She fell into step beside the demon and asked, "Settling in ok?"

Windmill Village. A quiet little town, minus its recent crisis as the first victim of Dr. Eggman's Metal Virus. With the mad scientist gone and the virus cured, the villagers were starting to recover.

It was at this point that another human appeared on their doorstep.

Jonathan Ironwright was a mechanic from Central City. He had fled when Eggman had attacked, avoiding being zombified. Once Eggman been defeated and the cure dispersed, Jonathan found himself at a crossroads. Did he go back to his regular life, forever on-edge in case of another attack, but profitable? Or did he move to a smaller, quieter location, giving up the more-frequent business in favor of stability?

He chose the latter. But where to go? After a couple days of thought, he decided Windmill Village was his best bet. He had a feeling Eggman's ego was unlikely to specifically target them again; he'd already done the harm he promised. They also had a vacancy with "Mr. Tinker" being gone, and while they would probably survive not having a skilled repairman/builder just fine, as they had before Mr. Tinker's arrival, now would be the ideal time to offer his services.

There was some slight apprehension on the villagers' part- quite understandably, in Jonathan's opinion- but after some proof that he really had been working in Central City for many years, and a bit of sympathy on their part regarding his desire to live in peace, he bought the residence Mr. Tinker had inhabited. It took the majority of his life savings, but sometimes a major commitment requires a bit of personal pain to make it stick, make it work.

As he sent out flyers to his ongoing customers to assure them he had not simply vanished, it occurred to him that his more clandestine business would likely be the most affected by this change. Sure, there would be less scrutiny from law enforcement, but visitors to see him would stand out more. He'd have to be careful, and make sure all clientele behaved themselves while in town.

Whisper was one such client.

Upon entering the town, asking around for Jonathan got her directed to one of the houses in the heart of the village. It was easy to spot; it had a door tall enough for a human to comfortably use. It was a single-story building, with an attic above it with a window overlooking the town square.

The front door was propped open to let the breeze in on this sunny day. She could see the interior was dimly lit, but straight ahead, a bright lamp shone on a desk littered with bits and pieces of various machinery. Behind the desk sat a man wiring the inside of a small metal box- the mercenary would notice the desk was positioned in such a way that he could maximize his view of the front door and the town beyond.

As she entered, Jonathan looked up from his work, a look of delighted surprise crossing his face before settling into his "customer service" smile. "Good afternoon, ma'am. Are you picking up, dropping off, or starting a custom order?" The question was code, of course, established between them long ago. "Picking up" was for restocking, new tools, etc. "Dropping off" was for repairs and upgrades to her existing kit. And "custom orders" was anything that needed to be built from scratch.

On occasions where she needed something that didn't require discretion, she could make her request here. But for more... sensitive matters, he would lead her to his saferoom where they could openly talk about what she needed.

"Oh. Thank you." Ember smiled warmly at the other's compliment. Least she could only assume it was about her since she was the only purple colored hedgehog around. "I like your markings. They're super cute."
