The cat Sinner would sniffle while Emily wiped the tears away from her face. Rarely did Black Star receive simple acts of comfort like the one demonstrated to her now. She nervously waits for the Angel's answer to her request. But so far, the other female is only exhibiting kindness towards her. So why.. was she feeling emotions bubble up inside?
Embraced by the Seraphim, Black Star lets out a squeak reminiscent of a rubber duck's. But her chubby arms would wrap around the other to once she was given the okay to do so. "Th-That sounds good. I just.. I-I just w-wanna know that she's st-still alive, is all." The cat would finish, resting the side of her head against the Seraphim while still hugging her closely.
"And you will- I promise, Black Star. Just rest now," Uriel was gently rocking them with strokes placed on their back. "I still have business in the Hotel here but I have some time still until a meeting with Charlie! Is there anything else you'd like? I coooould make us some snacky-snacks! A few boardgames for some fun n' knick knacks to putz around with and really play! As I just LOVE-love-loooove the shoe in conopoly, but everyone forgets the poor shoe. But I don't!!! Never ever!"
The gentle rocking and strokes on her back were slowly soothing the Sinner. Black Star would sniffle and slowly rub at her eyes. After she was finished, the tiny feline woman would look up at Uriel and glumly reply. "I.. I think I'd like a snack.. i-if it's not any trouble?" Then as Black Star mentally ponders about the game that the Angel described, only to look confused. Because Black Star had never played a board game before.
"Wh-What's a.. board game?" She asks after flicking her ears. Which could be an invitation for Uriel to tell her everything about conopoly.

The short woman would mimic Moxxie's actions and lean back a little in her seat. Their view from the hotel's balcony was lovely. And it was a nice place to seek refuge from the growing populace of Sinners wanting to try redemption. He was right that Black Star was feeling downtrodden. It was primarily a lot of doubts eating at her, unfortunately.
She turns to her friend and offers a small, awkward smile. "I.. well.. I-I've had chances to speak up. But.. I don't say anything." Grey hands would slowly fold themselves in her lap, and the feline's ears would droop. "It's.. it's complicated like.. I.. I don't want to burden anybody. But also.. I don't.. I don't know if I-I deserve it, I mean," deserving of help. It wasn't due to walls built to protect herself. But it was from a lifetime of negative feedback about herself, that made it hard for Black Star to feel different. To feel that she deserved good things in her life.
"Black Star..." Moxxie tilted his head. "Do you mean... you feel you might not deserve help?" he asked.
He didn't ask in a shaming way. It was more in a way that he recognized the sentiment. It was all too familiar to him. It wasn't as if he had to dig back very far in his life to find times when he had been made to feel less than-than-demon. Or othered. And not as if all imps were made to feel that way daily. There were some things all of them could relate to in what Black Star said.
"Do you want to talk about why it is you feel that way, maybe? It might help? Or maybe Charlie or Vaggi would listen. I'm sure with the kind of people there are in this hotel...If they find all of them deserving of their time, so are you."
"Well.. yeah." Black Star answered her Imp friend simply. As if the fact was clear as day that she didn't deserve help. "I mean, I-I broke the rules back home, s-so I got sent down here. So c-clearly I.. I don't deserve it." The short Sinner would sigh, hands that were once in her lap, now folded together. "I.. I've always been wrong.. been bad too." Of course this was backtracking to her life on Earth, where Black Star had always been told that whatever she did was wrong, or that she was in trouble for the most minor things.
Then the feline would go quiet, allowing Moxxie to give his response to her self-sabotaging. She would sit silently and listening, his words being received. When her friend was finished, Black Star would tilt her head slightly to glance at him. Then with sad eyes, the cat would shake her head. "It's.. complicated. P-Part of me.. wants to talk about it, but I.. I-I don't wanna burden anybody."
It's alright tho cuz she's still grieving her og frat boy 💔

They were enjoying her dessert? Great! It made the tiny Sinner's heart bounce in joy in her chest. Although Black Star was highly skilled in cooking and baking, she was always flattered upon receiving compliments on her dishes. Grey cheeks were turning a bright shade of red as a smile crept its way onto her face. "W-Well, I learned this trick a-about putting the baking tray with the tiramisu i-into a larger tray filled with hot water. It-It helps even out the temperature inside the oven to.. to make it moist."
What does she seem so surprised!? It's delicious! Then again, Pentious has a life long affair with sugar, pointedly presented in every 'mm' after every bite. Which, it's almost gone. They'll beg her to make it again, if they have to-
"Hah, telling me your secrets! Don't you want to be the desert overlord, miss Black Star?" They play, chiming and brimming with sugary sweetness.
Black Star had been cooking for almost the entirety of her life. In fact, it was her main duty at the compound. To assist in cooking and preparing meals for everyone. Some instances when no one was looking, the young woman may had gotten 'greedy' and snuck herself a couple berries to munch on before the meal was served. Thus, rarely did any of her dishes turn out unpleasant.
"Secrets? D-D-Desert Overlord?" The chubby feline stammers with a dark-colored blush on her face. "I-I uh.. well.." her ears lower, while a finger habitually twirls one of her dark-colored hairs. "I.. I'm happy to.. to give you advice, i-if you'd like, P-Pentious." Oh dear, the vertically-challenged woman is having a hard time accepting their praise. "A-Anything in particular.. y-you'd like to know?" Black Star couldn't picture herself as an Overlord. Wouldn't that mean she'd be in danger all the time?

Did her boss hear her? Black Star was uncertain as to wether Vox had fully took in his employee's question or not. But the Overlord appeared busy with phone in one hand and holographic screens buzzing around him. But with the short and sweet answer given, Black Star would mentally deduce on what to give Vox's pet shark to eat.
But it would seem Vox had something different in mind. He wanted the underling to go out and fetch some voxtech-brand food. Well, good thing Black Star didn't have to spend her own money. Because the tiny Sinner didn't have much, let alone enough for a bag of the stuff! "H-Her lipstick?" The feline didn't understand how makeup would be appetizing. But as of present day, Black Star had no experience with raising a pet. Perhaps helping and doing errands for Vark would help in that area!
"I-I.. yes sir! R-Right away Mister Vox!" The feline's tail fur poofed out anxiously, right as she gave the much taller man a salute before scampering off to find Vark. "Here Varky Varky.. here boy!" Black Star would whistle, trying to get his attention. Patting her knees with both hands Black Star would call for Vark again. Then the Sinner heard the little pattering of feet.. perhaps it was him?
