This series of photographs explores tension within a contemporary condition between the everyday and the expected. With the increased popularity of mass media culture, we have all become photographers and models; therefore photo shots may not need to be documentary events at all.
The unfocused background and the red artificial lighting displace the everyday familiarity from its original context, creating the superficial. Blurring the boundaries between staged and un-staged reality carries the possibility of an unnerving scene.
