Finding Your Own, Unique Style Sense
I think one's style--or concept, thereof--is constantly changing and evolving. This is definitely the case for myself. I can recall all of my phases of clothes and style that I went through--skateboard/hip-hop urban wear in middle school; Ralph Lauren and other name brands throughout high school; and a quite conservative dressed man for half of college. I mentioned this a long while back, but what really got me into style was my trip to Europe. It was an epiphany to see so many well-dressed individuals. When I returned home to the States, my style sense changed for the better. I finally started wearing clothes that I was comfortable in; in other words, I didn't feel like my style was forced. Rather, my style began to flow naturally. So how would I currently describe my personal style? I think, above all, that I prefer quality over quantity. I like my clothes to last. For example, this is why you can catch me four days out of the week happily wearing my Tellason selvedge jeans, some New Balance 998's, and a well fitting chambray shirt or a black Reigning Champ sweater when it gets cold. In this sense, I would describe my style as typically quite conventional, and at ease . . . but everything HAS to fit just right! It's really only on special occasions--birthdays, weddings, family events, and hitting the town--that I might decide to spice it up and "go-big-or-go-home." --Zalo
