ok heres the abandoned comic i never did (this is the original universe !!)
"What did you want to be when you grew up?" Kemal asked, nudging for a cigarette from Devante. "You dont seem like a person whos proud to work in law or defense."
Devante handed said cigarette over, lighting it with his own lighter. It wasn't high quality, sure, but it worked. "I wanted to be a nurse, or a poet. Both would make me happy." He eventually lit his own.
Kemal looked at his partner, his pupils expanded. He turned away to hid his smile of curiosity. "What made you change?"
He stared back at his partner, Devante's eyes filled with doubt and disgust towards himself. His father was to blame, if not, himself for following his commands. He breathed out, letting smoke fill the air.
Flashes of unknown but modern realities hit Kemal's eyes like a swarm of wasps. His soul shined like no other, despite his 'Friend's' darkness in his soul.
"In a different timeline..." He trailed on, "You could have been those."
Devante stared at his partner in confusion, "İs this supposed to cheer me up?" Kemal laughed.
"Perhaps." He waved it off. "I think, even if you couldnt get to be a poet here, you became one in a different timeline, where you never changed your path." Kemal smiled.
Devante smiled back. İt weirdly warmed his heart, even if he didnt understand his 'Friend's' words of wisdom.
..was it wisdom?
"...I wanted to be an astronout. I guess you could say im half way there." Kemal smiled.
His younger self would laugh while chasing the stars under the moonlight, the other kids stared at him as if he was delusional. But yet, that young boy grew up and never lost his path, but strayed away from his intent.
He wanted to touch the stars, and now, hes feeling their atoms in his heart; Inside his love and joy towards his "Friend". No. Not friend.
...His apple to his eye? His sun in the dark vast space? His enchanted jewels in the storm of caves? No...
His prince in torn and shredded uniforms. While he was the second prince, wishing he was his knight in shining armor.
"Hey I haven't drawn Devante and Drew in a while" *immediately draws them banging*
It's been a while since I've drawn in a sketchbook. I think I'll do this more often.
Anyway, enjoy some sketches of DeVante

Pages:225
Snowflake Rating:ââââ(4/5)
Synopsis: Trust Laramie Briscoe to provide engaging characters in a well-built world I want to revisit again and again. Carly Phillips, NY Times bestselling author. Sometimes home finds us when we arenât looking⊠Devante Soles Laurel Springs was nothing more than a dot on the map when I decided I needed a change from the fast pace of Atlanta. Iâm more surprised than anyone else when I look around one day and realize I have friends who have become family, a city thatâs become a home, and a girl who's decided to make me believe in love. Unlike me though, her past has followed her here. A community that I once never thought Iâd have, comes together with me to save her. Eden Murphy Chicago wasnât for me. The bright lights, the embezzlement I should know nothing about, and the made man who changed everything - it all contributed to me leaving. I never felt safe there. Little Laurel Springs though? Itâs everything I hoped it would be and more. My coffee shop, A Whole Latte Love, isnât doing well, but Iâm close to turning a profit. And Devante? Well heâs more than I ever could have asked for. But Mario? Heâs the one I didnât count on coming back and demanding what I tookâŠ
Happy Birthday to Devante Swing
