Here’s an abandoned mattress propped up as a pretty effective windbreak that I saw while waiting to play music on Saturday.
Here’s me sporting a tennis skirt and a sweet sweaty roll of sedentary isolation later that night.

Hi! Here’s a ✒️. Happy Tuesday!
1. A song you like with a color in the title. 3. A song that reminds you of summertime. 7. A song to drive to.
Oh, thank you, @devastationwagon! Excellent questions!
1. A song you like with a color in the title: My favorite song with a color in the title is from Blu Frog and it’s called Blu Sunday. However, there’s no linkable track that I’ve been able to find anywhere.
I actually found the song when my kid won a copy of a CD put out by a local radio station several years ago and it’s the only time I’ve ever heard anything by the band, but man… I sure do love it.
A few of my favorite lyrics, since I can’t link it:
“It’s a blu Sunday and my heart’s frozen cold, keeps me singing, keeps me crying out for more”
“Will it be you who will make me happy, the one who will stand by me, the one who will keep me safe from the enemy, the one who will cradle me?”
Runner up would probably Lou Gramm’s Midnight Blue or Jason Mraz’s Geek in the Pink.
3. A song that reminds you of summertime: I am My Own Grandpa by Ray Stevens. My Grandpa sang this song every week at the Friday Fish Fry and Music Night at the local town hall. I probably heard this song at least 25 times a summer, as long as I can remember. Even when his voice started to fade, Grandpa would hum it because it still just tickled Gram, even after all those years.
7. A song to drive to: Oh man… there are so many!! I’m going to have to Top Five this one, I think. I just can’t choose.
1. I Don’t Care About You - Lake Street Dive (currently the top spot in my “fuck you” playlist)
2. Amen - Halestorm
3. Love Shack - The B-52′s
4. Alive Tonight - Grace Potter
5. It’s Raining Men - The Weather Girls
Thanks again, @devastationwagon! This was a lot of fun, even if it was tough to narrow it down.
cobweb - (if you’ve graduated) do you miss high school?
I graduated high school in 1991, and I don’t miss it. I actually had a whole lot of fun in high school, but it’s nothing I want to go back to. I didn’t like living at home, and I don’t like doing school work, so I’m happy to be done with high school forever.
🌻
Send me a sunflower and I’ll tell you whatever the fuck I want:
I’m having a weird day. Hell, I’m having a weird month. September has been a little squiggly for me.
Normally, I have music playing all the time. I was introduced to new music, even, but... I can’t find anything that fits me right now and I don’t know how to feel about that.
Send help (and music recommendations)!
Hi. I hope you all have a good new year. I’m alive. I’ve had a lot of rollercoaster this fall, and winter is waking me up again. Here’s some proof of life:
I can’t say that everything is ok, but I do want to say that I miss the wild joy of you. Xo!
I know there’s a photo of me with the whole “linen suit jacket ‘hungry like the wolf’ aspirational John Taylor on the beach vibe,” but this is the closest I could find. Please enjoy this idiot in 1986 opening presents at his high school graduation party.
My sisters tried to bail to go see Poison or something like that, and my mom called them “little bitches.” It was so out of character for her that we all still laugh about it. Happy Thursday!
Cutoffs, tube socks, glasses that darken in sunlight, taking in the sail. This was summer me in a rare moment of peace with my littler middle sister. I love this for so many silly reasons.
