Kind of wanted to explain my art style. Like how it became what it is.
I remembered really developing it around making middle school. Took a lot inspiration from teen titans animated originally.
I was pretty obsessed with the show back then, so it makes sense it would reflect somewhat in my art.
Near the beginning of high school I started using Bleedman and Endling as inspiration. Had a big interest in fairy tales and anything grim reaper related. Which has stuck. I used to copy Bleedman’s earlier art style. Since I really liked his oversized feet and big eyes. I then started imitating his later style. Since I thought Mini mandy’s rag doll look was adorable. Ive been drawing characters with stitches since.
As for Endling. I adored his art, it’s just so pretty looking. That and I love the aesthetic of his characters. I drawing my eyes somewhat like his style at times. He’s also why I have a bit of a thing for drawing creepy cute characters.
Now for the more manga related references. Middle school I took a lot of inspiration in chobits or anything clamp really. The internet back in the early 2000s wasn’t what it is now. So I would use manga’s I owned as references for drawing. I had like one volume of chobits. So my earlier work I draw clothes similar to chobits mostly.
later in high school I came upon the manga Sugar Sugar Rune and loved the whole aesthetic of the series. I used to draw eyes similar to that. Though that changes over time.
After high school I got my hands on the manga Doors of Chaos. A really pretty gothic lolita like manga. I think a lot of my faces I draw share some charactics of this style. Used to draw that kind of messy hair style in my earlier work. Not so much now.
Hiveswap I drawing chibis like the ones in the comic. It’s simple and cute. Easy to draw quickly.
Finally black butler. I learned how to draw bishounen eyes from looking at this. That and I style my eye lashes similar to this.
Wish my art style was as detailed as these are. But Im still learning.
Figure I just share how I developed a style of my own. It takes massive amounts of time and just inspiration from multiple artists. Though I notice a lot of inspirations have a bit of a gothic, creepy, or dark aesthetic. So that makes sense why I enjoy drawing what I draw.
