I don’t know if someone point that out before but :

In the first movie we have this dialogue : 

“Snotlout: I've never seen anyone mess up that badly. That helped!

Hiccup: Thank you, thank you.”

And in rtte season 5 in a matter of perspective we have this dialogue :

“Snotlout: Gee, Hiccup, when you fail, you fail big time.

Hiccup: Thanks a lot, Snotlout.”

I just love this parallel, it show how far their relation goes. In the first one Snot want to make Hiccup feel bad and we can heard in his voice the sadness after this comment. 

But in the second, I feel it’s some kind of friendly joke, just mess up a little with him but he doesn’t want to make him feel bad. A comment that I can say to my friend. And Hiccup it’s just done, in sort roll eyes tone (and angry but I make this in account of the fact he doesn’t have a breakfast because it’s was angry at Fishlegs two minute after that so)

I just love this little detail about the relationship between the characters, it’s beautiful ! (btw if my english is bad it’s not my mother language and this post was a little complicate to tell in english but I wanted to share my thoughts with more people)
