terra’s got no  shortage  of scars from years in battle  ,  some more noticeable than others.  but none more noticeable than the overlapped ones right over his heart  ,  the only ones he couldn’t put a story to.  he  knows  they weren’t there before  ,  but he doesn’t know where exactly they came from  ,  or if they’re meant to be his at all.  but he has them now  ,  that’s all he can really say.

the slight feeling of ven’s fingers over them  ,  skimming the rough  &  raised skin makes his breath catch  ,  &  terra chews on his lip for a moment before speaking.

‘ funny enough....those are the only ones i don’t know how i got.  i just....have them now, i guess.  they look like they might’ve....hurt. ’ 

he wants to say he doesn’t know what they’re from  ,  but he does know  ,  or he can give a pretty good guess.

Insomniacs || RP with Devenior

  Terra sat up in bed, trying to stay calm after having had another nightmare. He pressed his palms against his eyes to try and rub away the sleep. He found himself overwhelmed with a need to check and make sure his eyes weren’t yellow. 

  Slowly, he got up from the bed and put his shoes on. He tried to resist the urge to bolt out of the room, since that would probably wake up Aqua or Ven.

  Though he had the feeling that Ven wasn’t asleep. 

  After looking in the bathroom mirror and confirming that his eyes were indeed the same blue that they had always been and his hair was still brown, Terra resigned himself to not being able to get much sleep for a while, he was never able to, even when he tried. Instead, he tried to get some fresh air.

  It was always nice to walk the grounds of the Land of Departure at night. It brought back many nice memories of going to meet Aqua and Ventus in the usual spot that they always met at. 

  Terra wasn’t at all surprised to see Ven there, even if it was late at night. Slowly, so as not to startle him, Terra took a seat next to him.

  “You can’t sleep either?” He asked, a yawn punctuating the last word.

her hands wring in front of her as she calls out to him  ,  teeth sinking into her lower lip.  she’s  home  ,  they’re all home  ,  but it feels so much  colder  than aqua ever remembers it.  still  ,  she gathers her courage  ,  it replaces her pride  ,  in tatters anymore.

what good had her  pride  done her anyways  ,  except hurt the people she loves ??

At the other’s words, Vanitas glared, scowling at Ventus from where he stood.

“And what if I don’t want them to stay?“ he grumbled, “What if they just force things on me without respecting what I want? Huh? It’s not that easy, Ventus.” He’d rather people that knew him became scars. That they would just fade away and leave him alone - maybe he’d finally find some kind of peace. Why should he even stay when he couldn’t be around any of them without being antagonistic, even when he isn’t trying to be? No. It was better to condemn himself to being alone. He understood that, not his other half’s insistence on him sticking around.

he doesn’t mean to sound so  harsh  ,  &  for a moment terra wants to kick himself.  he can’t help it  ,  though.  the fear  &  panic  that came rushing back at the idea of  anything  happening to ven because of him  ,  by his action or inaction  ,  makes terra  nauseous  .  he swallows thickly  ,  hand settling on ven’s shoulders  ,  forcing himself to calm down.

he couldn’t let anything happen to ven.  he  wouldn’t  .

‘ please.  if something happened to you, i... ’ 

i don’t know what i’d do.

it’s a  curse  ,  terra thinks  ,  to be stuck with this.  behind the makeshift patch he’s made is his other eye  ,  perfectly fine  ,  but  striking  gold now.  he hates looking at it  ,  so obviously  ,  the simple solution is to cover it  ,  right ??

at least  ,  he  thought  it’d be simple.  the  bruises  forming from bumping into nearly  everything  in the castle say otherwise.

‘ oh, uh...hey, ven. ’ 

he’s almost  embarrassed  to be seen like this  ,  &  his cheeks turn slightly pink in response as he greets ven with a slight smile  ,  rubbing at a sore spot on his arm.

‘ ven. ’ 

it’s a  familiar  greeting  ,  &  terra smiles as he speaks  ,  immediately taking one of ven’s hands in his own once he’s able to.  he uses that to pull ven just a  little  bit closer  ,  leaning down to press a kiss to his cheek with a  grin  .  with his free hand  ,  he holds out a flower as he speaks  ,  almost a little  shy  .

‘ if you’re not doing anything, wanna get out for a little bit, just you and me ?? ’
