Alright WHAT is going on with deviantart right now?

Every page I try to open -- Yes, even the home and help page -- says it’s Forbidden. I tried clearing all of my deviantart history, but it stil does the same thing. On Chrome, on firefox, on my phone’s safari, even on my wii u browser.

Like I’m pretty sure if it’s suddenly blocked in my country it should’ve been redirected to internet postif instead of showing this forbidden screen but??? I used HMA to open deviantart and it worked fine  so what the hell is going on??

Howdy folks! As you may have noticed, deviantartwhy is no more. I have a few posts regarding what happened on my main blog, @satyrbot We didn’t quit or deactivate. We were terminated. The blog, as it was, cannot be remade, and if I try to do so, my account itself will be terminated.

However, all is not lost. I have created this blog, similar to dAWhy, taking some of the concepts we had, and changing them around to create something new.

The goal here, is that you will still get your bad art fix, and from the two folks, Lotus and Zodie, who brought you the bad art glory days of deviantartwhy! But as we cannot post the same things we used to, as I said, there are some changes.

The twist here, is that rather than just having our followers fish for bad art on DA or FA or wherever else, we will all instead submit our own bad art. Old art. Art from that sketchbook you found from middle school. Art you drew in MS Paint with a mouse when you were 10. Or when you were an edgy 14 year old, or some of your bad OC’s. I have a box of about 30 old skethbooks, and I will certainly be contributing what I can bear to look at myself! On dAWhy, we also had Redraw Wednesday, and I want to make that concept a bigger focal point here too. This is about posting our own stuff and being able to laugh at ourselves (Or even our friend’s stuff, if they give us permission!) and also about showcasing improvement. That was definitely a theme of dA, but I would like to expand on it even more!

We had enough folks participating with the self-submission stuff, and Redraw Wednesday, so I think this just might work! I don’t expect it to get as big as dAWhy was though, because most people don’t even want to look at their old cringy art and OC’s, let alone share them with the world. But it’s definitely worth a shot! So yeah, dA Why may be gone, but the mods aren’t, and our former followers aren’t, so  here’s to the bad art renaissance I suppose! Hope you guys will join us for the new things to come <3

HOWDY AGAIN FOLKS! Former deviantartwhy mod here.

Since there’s really no chance of deviantartwhy coming back, I was thinking of making a different, yet similar blog to fill the void. Instead of fishing for bad and disturbing art on dA, followers and even mods instead submit THEIR OWN art.

I don’t expect something like that to get as big as dAwhy once was. I don’t expect as many to want to participate. Sometimes it’s hard to even look at your old shit.

And I know it might be a bit difficult to regulate what gets posted because everyone might not tell the truth about being the artist. And then again that’s kind of just stupid. There are other bad art blogs you can submit to for that. I was also thinking of having it focused more on the Redraw Wednesday thing we had going. That became pretty popular and it’s kind of a neat way to showcase improvement.

But anyway, I was just wondering if that could possibly gather some interest. To get it off the ground I might have to dig up my old embarrassing stuff, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right?

Hello folks. Former mod Lotus of Deviantartwhy here. If you’re wondering what happened, and where we went, the blog was terminated.

We had a lot of fun with it. I’m sad that it’s gone. We built up this huge following of about 12,000 people and 27,000 posts, Many of our followers were very interactive with us. Hundreds of submissions a week. Reveling in the silly shitstorms was a blast. We were sniped by the tumblr police for “improper redistribution” or however it was worded in the email I received. Meaning, we posted things unsourced. But having a blog like that is treading on thin ice a bit. Yes, we bended the rules a bit, but had we linked to the artists, at least some of those 12,000 would have followed those links to harass them. We did what we could to avoid that by censoring names and leaving out links. What irritates me the most, isn’t even that our 4 years are gone, but that whatever pissbaby reported, they’re going to see this as a huge victory. kindlyfuckoffwiththatshitman If I even attempt to remake the blog, under this account and email, I will be terminated immediately and irreversibly. I’d rather that not happen. I may create a different blog to fill that void. But the subject matter will probably be different;

I went back on DA for like 2 seconds since I hadn't been on it in a while and I had just about 170 things in the inbox thing And you how it automatically goes on the things people recently posted And how it's just usually full of random stuff You wanna know what I saw You wanna know what I had to fucking see with my eyes I had to fucking see two furries both with giant boobs making out with fucking hearts around them And it waSN'T EVEN A PAINT DRAWING EITHER IT WAS A TRADITIONAL DRAWING that wasn't even that bad That fucking site with their fucking furries with giant boobs that pop out out of nowhere
