TL: Deviian Kitchen - Game Devlog 2

Wys: Hi there! A quick update today, most of the the ingredients used in the cooking has been sketched and lined at this stage. First thing before I go on with coloring is confirming the colors I wanted for the set, it won’t do if too many items share a similar color scheme. Its easier to scribble on colors on thumbs like this for comparison purposes.

Its messy, its rough, but it gives me a good idea of what colors look good together, and so now comes the coloring process, which is honestly the best part for any kinds of art projects for me. I love coloring.

TL: Deviian Kitchen - Game DevLog 1

Wys: I found some inspiration thanks to @aealzx​ talking about a feature in the Fire Emblem Heroes game she was playing. And from that, I have decided to start this mini game project that parodies the Dinning Hall section of it for fun.

After working out the basic parameters on a chart, a prototype was made.

Mini Game Summary:

The game has 4 diners and 1 chef, all randomly generated. You’ll be able to pick up to 3 ingredients to create a dish. The dish will be judged by the 4 diners and scored. The scores that the diners give will be influenced by which dish you cooked and who is the chef at the time. The final score will result in your dish being given the rank of 1-5 stars.

Ver 0.1: Pretty straightforward, putting in the main bare bones mechanic that is the foundation of the entire mini game. Mainly creating database items and many lines of variables and IF conditions.

Ver 0.2: Here, the game’s mechanical system has been finished, so now comes the implementation of some of the graphical aspects. It comes with ingredients showing up as you pick them as a reminder to what you selected. More graphical progress to be shown on a later devlog.
