I only just learned this week that former Godzilla suit actor, the late, great Kenpachiro Satsuma, was the suit actor for Thunder Mask, my favorite obscure Kyodai Hero.

Satsuma-san used the stage name Kengo Nakayama for Thunder Mask, as well as for several roles he played in various Ultra series for Tsuburaya Productions.

Devil Dinosaur

Powers: Human-level (or above) intellect and superhuman strength.

Devil Dinosaur is from the Dinosaur World in Earth-78411, a primitive reality in the past. After nearly being burned to death by a tribe of Killer-Folk he was rescued by Moon-Boy but exposure to the fire activated a mutation in the Dinosaur which gave him powers greater than others of his species and turned his skin from olive green to flame red. Devil Dinosaur was then fiercely loyal to his constant companion Moon-Boy and the two had many adventures together until Moon-Boy was killed by a Killer-Folk.

Lunella Lafayette then opened a portal between her world and the Dinosaur World and Devil Dinosaur followed the Killer-Folk through, hoping to avenge Moon-Boy’s death. Here he rescued Lunella before being captured himself. Lunella eventually rescued him and he protected her as she underwent terrigenesis and the two became an unstoppable team.
