Currently obsessed with the idea of a Steddie AU with Eddie as a demon/Hades. Ideas and headcanons so far 
-Steve performs a ritual because Dustin, who he sees as his little brother, is sick and dying. Steve is absolutely desperate and when he’s going through Dustin’s old shit, he sees some “demonology” stuff mixed within his D&D crap, he decides to give a whirl at a ritual he finds. The last thing he expects is for the ritual to actually work. But suddenly there’s a very attractive demon with hair (almost) as good as his asking what he wants.
-Steve: “oh my god I can’t believe that actually worked. Does that always work??” Eddie: “Nah, I only visit pretty boys who catch my attention.”
-Steve heartfeltly explaining why he is making this deal and that he will give up his life for Dustin because that kid has so much more to live for than someone who peaked in high school like him. How Dustin is the smartest kid he knows and that he can’t imagine ever being happy in a world that would take such a good kid so early. Eddie tearing up. Steve: “wait are you crying?” Eddie: “No! Shut up! I swear if you ever say that shit again I will banish you straight to hell. I have an image to protect.”
-Steve agrees he’ll do anything. Suddenly he’s in hell with Eddie. Steve: “Wait, I thought you were going to kill me or take my soul or something. Why am I, still in my body, down here?” Eddie: “oh you’re an idiot if you thought I was going to leave that body behind.”
-Steve asking Eddie why he dresses punk. Eddie: “who do you think created this look?”
-Steve realizing that he summoned and made a deal with not just any old demon but the actual king of the underworld 🙃
-For all his flirting, Eddie is actually very big on consent. He really just wanted a companion and didn’t want to ever make Steve uncomfortable. Once Steve realizes that this is why Eddie isn’t making any moves, he starts pursuing hardcore.
-Dustin realizes what’s happened when he miraculously recovers right when Steve goes mysteriously missing and sees the remnants of a ritual. He enlists the help of Robin (maybe some others too) and they find a way into hell. Eddie being absolutely flabbergasted at this random 12 y/o who has done something few have ever accomplished and is now threatening to fight the literal devil. Steve not at all surprised.
-Eddie insists Dustin gets him a “hellfire club” shirt because it looks sick as hell. Dustin agrees he’ll get him one in exchange for Steve’s freedom. Eddie has a mini crisis remembering that the boy he’s falling for is only there because he has no choice. He makes the deal and suddenly Steve finds himself back home.
-Steve makes Dustin and Robin show him how to get back to hell, with promises he’ll still visit often. Goes back and starts yelling at Eddie asking why tf he would do that. Angst ensues but they get their happily ever after.
