The Devil’s Pool is a rock pool located right on the edge of Victoria Falls in Zambia on the Zambezi river. When you enter the pool, you get pushed to the edge by the force of the river which itself carries over the falls. – WTF Fun Facts

On the edge if this existence there is a shallow pool

Where water collects in eddies before falling to its doom

The pool there has its legends, so says the local shaman:

One life for one who lingers on the precipice of ruin.

But the pool, it has its faithful and when the moon is round

They climb into those waters to watch the storms touch down

With fatalistic wonder, they stay enraptured through

They hardly ever notice when the devil takes his due

In the morning some may wonder, search and search again,

But the shamans do not move, for they know there's naught to gain

The devil's come and gone, and his earthly pleasures too

The shamans meet in secret, thankful he took so few.
