"my impulse control is a lot better than my brother's. that guy just does whatever he pleases, fuck the consequences." noah rolled his eyes with a slight sigh. "do you think your siblngs are right? or is it their lack of attention the reason why you let your impulses take over. cause you know, that's when they will care?"
ziggy berman 𝚜𝚊𝚒𝚍 : ❝ You dream of my mouth before it called you a lying traitor. ❞
Nick wet his lips, unintentionally looking at hers as she spoke. Perhaps he was a lying traitor. He certainly wasn't a good man, at any rate, and Ziggy Berman... well, she had known that since their first meeting. Even if she hadn't known it consciously. "Do I?" He asked, leaning back against his sherrif's car and looking at her. "And here I just thought you'd look good in handcuffs." / @devilsanddarlings

elena was learning her how to read, a task that was more difficult than amara thought, as there were so many different letters. they looked so different from what she remembered. nevertheless, practice was important because amara had already noticed that life was even more difficult when you could not read.
amara tried to understand the contents of the thin book on her lap while waiting for elena, who was supposed to meet her and was, in fact, already approaching her.
"hey, el-" she stopped in the middle of the sentence because that wasn’t elena, even though she looked almost like her. but only almost, she didn't look exactly like her. fortunately. no more hapless doppelganger, but how could that be?
"who are you?"
"Oh that's even better. I wanted to say college but I don't know I figured we had a few years before we crossed the bridge." Cindy says with a small smile. She would have put her foot down if it came down to it but she knew it wouldn't. Her sister is sensible and wouldn't do something stupid like get hitched her senior year. She had plans and knew the responsibilities that went along with everyone else.
She smiles her brow raised as she watches her sister take something out of her hiding place. She makes a mental note of that spot not because she'll snoop later but just because. She likes to know these things about her sister likes to know as much about her as she can now that they are speaking again. She takes the envelope looking at the front she has an inkling what this is. As she takes the letter out and scans the contents her smile grows wider. "No way- Ziggy! Oh my god!" She throws her arms around her sister pulling her in for a tight embrace. "I am so proud of you!"

Q paused as Kol glanced up at him, his heart pounding faster than normal despite the fact nothing was apparently wrong. He took a deep breath and then allowed himself a small smile. "Alright, good. I don't work on this coding language very often so it was an interesting change. Would... I be alright to take a copy or did you want to keep it private?"
Lips twitch upwards, barely phased by his commentary. If she expected a warm welcome from all of her siblings, she would have been naive. Fortunately, she knew her siblings well, knew she'd have to work to earn their forgiveness— a task she would happily partake in so long as it was on the cards. Kol had always been eccentric, as a child she had revelled in his chaos, perhaps even caused it alongside him but as they had aged, as they had become what they are, their relationship had shifted, changed.
Bryn had grown up quickly, perhaps too quickly for her age, after all, she had only been sixteen. Her brother had delved deeper into his madness, something which had been a point of contention before he had been daggered and she had eventually left.
She ignores the response to her initial question, deciding it best if she doesn't encourage him further. Instead she reaches for the bourbon, pouring herself a glass and quickly downing it as it meets her lips, following his lead and pouring another. Apparently she was going to need alcohol to get through this conversation.
" You and I both know I'm not fond of goodbyes. " She hums in response (though in her defence, he wasn't exactly around when she parted ways), taking a small sip of the new glass she holds, leaning back against the wall, head tilting as she takes him in. " I forgot how well you hold grudges. " She muses, head shaking, smiling despite herself. " Never the less I'm not intending on leaving any time soon unless I'm driven to it so perhaps we could try for civility? " A brow raises in question and she places her drink on the nearby counter, gaze softening. " Would you believe me if I said I missed you? All of you. " A pause, lips twitching upwards " with perhaps the exception of Niklaus, I could go another century or two without seeing him. "
