I admit I was drawn in by the album artwork for Altars on their Bandcamp page, but I’m so glad I decided to listen!
From the haunting first few notes of the album’s intro track “Krzyżu święty” (sung in Polish, vocalist Oliwia’s mother tongue) through to the filthy closer “Precious Bones”, this record probably would have made my best of 2016 list if I’d heard it in 2016. Not a bad song on the entire thing.
