“Uh, hey, Seraph... what’s that orb you’re tossing around? It looks kind of familiar.”
“What, this thing? Dunno. Found it in one of the Observatory’s back rooms. Thought it was, like, a medicine ball or something.” Seraph tosses the orb and catches it. “At least it’s heavy enough to make for a decent piece of workout equipment.”
“Medicine ball? No, that’s an orb. If you shatter it in a dungeon it’ll cause some sort of effect to the people who didn’t use the orb.”
“That so, huh? Mmm... more of the magic mumbo-jumbo from your world, I suppose.” She twirls the orb around on her claw.
“A-Ah! Wait... can you put that down, please? If you drop it and it breaks, then who knows what could happen?!”
“Relax, Punchy! I’ve got everything under con—”
The orb drops out of her right paw and shatters on the ground. A blinding flash erupts throughout the room.
“Aw, crap. Yo, Punchy, you still with me? Say something!” She waves her paws around to clear the white smog in the air. When she does, her arms fall to her sides and she squeaks out an, “Oh shit.”
Tessa looks down at her paws, then up at Seraph.
“What the hell did you do to me, you idiot?!”
“I can fix this! I can fix this!” She looks around the room. “Okay... I can’t fix this. But maybe I can find someone who can.”
Tessa’s been struck by a Devolve Orb! Oh dear... who knows how long its effects will last?
