Slowly, he stirred with the slow, deliberate elegance of someone who could have woken moments ago — but very pointedly chose not to. ( A long breath in. A low, irritated exhale. ) One eye cracked open, glinting beneath heavy lashes, and he arched a brow with the weariness of a man far too acquainted with nonsense before coffee.

‘A stick, Gabriel? Truly? You poke me with a stick, and still have the audacity to speak of beauty?’

He shifted, spine rolling as he sat up with feline languor, fingers combing through his hair as if the interruption had personally offended his sense of drama, his aesthetic sensibilities, and possibly his ancestors going back seven generations.

‘I was having a rather pleasant dream, you know. Peaceful. Quiet. No pointy objects involved.’

Blood curses demanded a heavy price, and none indulged in their use as much as Gabriel. For years, Azure had observed him delve deeper and darker into the forbidden arts, transforming into something that many feared. ( Even the demons spoke of him with reverence, relishing the sinister tales that surrounded his name. ) Azure, however, knew the truth—the entity that had granted Gabriel such formidable power and the malevolent force that had cursed his family. Evil often lurked in the most unsuspected places, embodied in creatures beyond the reach of human imagination. 

Contrary to popular belief, Azure was not idle. ( He was a presence felt in many realms, combating those who dared to encroach too closely upon the world, answering the desperate prayers of mortals, and resolving situations that defied human comprehension. ) He had encountered Gabriel, had somewhat introduced himself, yet had always maintained a cautious distance—until the day came when the entity's insatiable greed began to threaten his creations. 

Azure was determined not to let history repeat itself; his first universe, his own cherished realm, had been obliterated. He vowed to protect every other realm with unwavering resolve. ( His gaze locked onto Gabriel, and in an instant, he materialised within the confines of the dimly lit room, exuding an unnatural calm. ) It took a great deal to provoke his wrath, and he was acutely aware that his anger was not truly directed at Gabriel, despite often disapproving of his actions. 

‘We meet again. I trust you remember me? We need to talk.’

@devorantescorda-2 came to worship : "I'll bow down if I want to bow down." He said with a smirk. If anything, Azure was one of the few who had earn his respect over the years.

‘Of course, dear.’

The respect was returned tenfold, like a gentle wave reciprocating the pull of the moon. Azure had learned long ago that there was no way of truly forcing loyalty; it was an elusive treasure that could only be unearthed from a place deep within, a mutual and consensual agreement forged in the fires of understanding and recognition. It was the only true way to form genuine connections with others. ( In these days of wisdom and clarity, he didn’t see his subjects as lesser beings; rather, he treated them as equals, unless they proved otherwise through their actions. ) Long ago, he had come to understand that Gabriel was much more than what others assumed—a powerful presence that deserved dignity. Azure had come to see him not just as a formidable ally but also as a cherished friend, one with whom he delighted in sharing moments of occasional light-hearted teasing.

 ‘I would never expect otherwise. The question is, do you want to?’

"You’re here to entertain, not to attach. If I catch you blurring lines again, you’ll find out just how creative I can be with consequences. Understood, darling?"

The fox nuzzled the vampire’s neck, his voice turning as sweet as silk. “It was once, you misunderstand how I work. Whilst I do enjoy playing I am a kitsune and like to deal in the business of souls. Their souls are ever so easy to manipulate, their minds will be ours and the money, the business you get will grow. I will work for you and you will flourish. My gifts are yours to use.” He took his arm and kissed across the skin, his amber eyes shining. “Let me have more time with them, we will own their very souls, not just their business. If you control a soul, they will always be willing to come back” he said as he moved to whisper in his ear with a dark and twisted grin. “It remains your decision, I will follow your lead sweetheart.”

He had been lost in his thoughts, feeling a bit adrift lately, if he was being truthful. The world he once knew had transformed, and even with his gentle nature, he often felt its heavy presence. He had never been shown how to navigate life, how to flourish without constant support. ( Independence was significant to him, yet it came with its challenges. It didn’t come naturally, and at times like these, the noise in his mind almost overpowered him. ) His russet eyes drifted over, taking a moment longer than usual for recognition to dawn. But when it did, a soft smile emerged, and he reached for Gabriel without any hesitation. Gabriel was a comforting presence he could welcome close, even when feeling overwhelmed. 

‘Sorry. Yes, of course we can talk.’

Vibrant blue eyes landed on the man that seemed to be looming in the dark, hidden to some, but not to Bill. He could see him as clearly as though they were standing right next to each other. Some would say the encounter was ominous, and would probably rightfully be frightened.

He was at home in the dark and figured he had already met the worst that it had to offer.

"Don't see any reason to be scared is all," he replied with a easy smile. "It's a beautiful night." Not the full moon but the crescent was shining brightly above them through the trees of the forest.

[  SMS : Gabriel] It must have been something highly important for you to leave so quickly.   [  SMS : Gabriel] I had actually planned on sharing a bottle of vintage red wine with you but you had gone by the time I had returned from checking my bar's stock intake. [  SMS : Gabriel] Do you often depart without saying goodbye? Here, I thought I was starting to mean something to you, but I guess I was wrong in thinking that.

He deliberately ignores Gabriel's invitation to join him at his home and instead reaches over to grab the unopened bottle of vintage red wine. He pries it open with one of his claws and pours half of its contents into a glass before drinking a small sip of it. He doesn't care that he has left him on read. He deserves it for not having the common courtesy to say goodbye.
