10 Songs I’m Obsessed With

I was tagged by @jeonjagiya and I’d love to see what @marshmallow-phd, @tokyoseo, and @turtletaemin have to add!

1. First Love - BTS (Min Yoongi) - This song still gets me emotional every time I hear it. I love the storytelling element of it and the build of the song. You can feel his emotions through the whole thing and I would be lying if I said I didn’t cry on occasion listening to it.

2. Universe - EXO - This is the song that sucked me into the fandom. I was just a casual fan, listening to stuff on occasion. I really enjoyed “The Eve” *ahem* and that performance, but something about Universe just hit me hard in the feels. I’m a sucker for that soft and sweet aesthetic and the vocals in this song are incredible. 

3. Shine - Pentagon - I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! It’s my jam and is so happy and cheers me up and makes me smile when I listen to it :D This song is what has made me into a Pentagon stan.

4. Blooming Day - EXO-CBX - So, when I was first introduced to the sub unit I was really luke warm about it. However, I gave it another chance and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song (so much so that it is currently my “anthem” on Tinder). Because of it, I gave other CBX songs another listen and found that I really like a lot of it! 

5. Perfect Girl - Monsta X - This was the song that solidified Kihyun as my Monsta X bias and as my number 2 bias overall (no one has been able to overtake Yoongi). I could barely make it through the video for it the first few times I watched it because it (read: Kihyun) gave me such intense feels. Too many naughty thoughts have come up thanks to that song and video!

6. Ain’t No Way - Aretha Franklin - This is probably my all time favorite song...ever. Aretha is queen and the song makes me want to close my eyes and just sway in the dark while I listen to her convey such powerful emotions. 

7. I Will Follow You Into the Dark - Death Cab for Cutie - This is one of the few songs I know all the lyrics to and will sing completely when I’m alone if it comes on. I find it so powerful and simple. Definitely in my top 10 favorite songs of all time.

8.  To Me - GOT7 - I know this is a breakup song but!! I love the GOT the Stage of this and how they paired and layered their vocals. I think one of GOT7′s strengths is how all of them can convey such deep emotions in their songs. You can hear the longing and pain throughout the whole thing. Before I looked up the lyrics I thought it was about unrequited love but it’s so much deeper. I really like a lot of GOT7′s ballads. 

9. Tin Man - Miranda Lambert - This song...it has so much meaning for me. This is the album she released after she got divorced and it’s the most epic breakup album EVER, in my opinion. I heard this song for the first time a few months before my last breakup and I found it so relateable, feeling like my heart was so broken and I just wanted to find a way to protect myself from ever feeling that way again. It’s also one of the few songs I know all the lyrics to. I feel like I should add that I grew up on country-western music and this song and the corresponding album reminds me of the older country that is just so much better than whatever has been released into the mainstream over the last few years. Just my two cents.

10. Temperature - Devvon Terrell - I have a playlist named “Panty Droppers” on my Spotify and this song is the embodiment of that playlist. It’s the playlist I put all the songs I hear that have super sexy and/or sensual beats. This song wrecks me every time I listen to it and if I have it playing I NEVER skip it. It’s dirty and wonderful and I can’t get enough of it. I don’t listen to it all the time but I will ALWAYS listen to it if I’m using that playlist and it comes on.
