in this project (defining practise) i am going to cover the project topic "journey of 1cm".
i have decided to stylize my project as an animation and to cover the topic of depression in my project, i intend to display visual moving representations of the journey of depression, the feelings and the emotions, i have also decided to label the animation sequence "The Fall...".
The title "The Fall" represents the fall into depression but more importantly the fall into darkness (there are no bright sides in depression), the notion of falling from the person we used to be into a shell of "pandoras box" where negativity at its highest most extreme form resides in.
in relation to the notion of 1cm, the 1cm is displayed/represented as to how small one feels in depression how low one feels. in all 'the fall' being the representation of falling into  depression and the at the bottom is the ground "rock bottom" and when one falls into deep major depression or clinical depression they are 1cm away from the ground, where you may never come back or it is too late.
the style of my animation will be hand drawn based, i want to give my animation a amateur, almost childlike style of drawing incorporating the boiling effect to make it look more alive and to give it more motion Â
animation description by each scene
scene 1. i am going to represent a person walking into the center or so then i am going to try an animate the motion of crouching (which is from research, the position of crouching into a ball when sad or depressed) the person then turns into a ball and grows bigger and bigger and starts to turn black and consumes the screen (another slight representation of being consumed by the darkness of depression and then showing the ongoings of the dark realms of a depressed mind).
scene 1b. in this part of scene of scene 1 i am going to implant a gif i saw on tumblr which displays words, feelings and emotions relating to people of depression. i am going to stylize it in a manner where just like the tumblr gif, the words produced get faster and faster until it reaches its end which have the words dead at the end, i am also going to display the same technique but also included a sort of heart beat like the ones displayed on heart monitors during which the heart heartbeat gets faster until the end then produces a flatline when the word dead is produced.
scene 2 zooms out revealing an eye which then blinks and carries on to zoom out and find itself in a city
scene 2b. zooming out through the buildings and the camera then falling down along side the buildings to show a person standing at the bottom then again zooming out to show the entire cityscape and many other people but also seems to alienate one individual.(this is the representation of loneliness, the city represents congestion and  closeness along with the people. being alone and feeling alone while surrounded by people)
scene 3. zooms out to reveal the same eyes as before, but there are tears inside the eye it blinks and a tear drop falls
scene 3b. as the tear falls it transforms into a person falling, as the person continues to fall a piece of rope starts to fall down and tries to reach the person as they get closer to what looks like the ground(the rope is a representation of help and friends and family that try to provide help and support) the rope draws nearer and nearer as the person makes contact with the end', the camera shows the bottom of the screen, it shows the person falling through what looks like the ground but doesnt fully show the person going straight through but instead the only thing you can see is a pair of feet pointing downwards and a piece of rope extruding from the top (this represents the final destination of depression, Suicide, i am trying to convey the efforts of help and support trying to catch up with the person thats falling but are too late and then as the person and the rope make contact with the bottom the rope turns into a piece of rope used for hanging and the bottom of screen revels the feet that are in a position where it would be when someone hangs themselves).
scene 4. the black area which looks like the ground in scene 4 expands to consume the screen then i am going to display a piece of research that i found which relate to the signs of someone going through depression and also suicide, these will pop up randomly throughout the screen then the words fade out one by one randomly and the words "be aware" are put in place.
final scene. after the words"be aware" fade out the heartbeat monitor comes back on showing a flatline, then begins to show a small heartbeat (representing that the hopefully due someone realising the signs of depression and suicide help towards that person can be more efficient and effective and may save them from harming themselves).
