Big Titty Goth Moth girlfriend, huh? Why does no one talk about Big Booty Goth spider girlfriend?
A dewdrop spider collecting dew and being a bit melancholy about it. Love how some of these spiders really look like they have a big inverted cross on them.

Dewdrop spiders (Argyrodes) are small silvery spiders that live in the webs of larger spiders, like this golden silk spider (Nephila clavipes) whose massive web hosts several of them.
Argyrodes feed kleptoparasitically on insects trapped by the larger spider. In this case a dewdrop spider is sharing a dead honeybee with several jackal flies (Milichiidae), which are also specialized kleptoparasites of spiders and other predators.
Though Argyrodes are typically assumed to be freeloaders, studies have shown that their reflective silvery appearance can attract more moths and other prey to the host‘s web, and that they most often feed on leftovers and small prey that the host spider doesn’t want.

Ohhhh a long pal and a dewdrop pal! The first photo literally looks like you took a pic of a normal spider and just stretched it in photoshop. Love this friend! They look like a long-jawed orbweaver in Tetragnatha. The second pal is a cobweb spider in the genus Argyrodes, the dewdrop spiders! Very fancy and metallic. And finally the elytra of a carabid beetle, most likely a fiery searcher, Calosoma scrutator. Thanks for sharing! Great finds!
A dewdrop spider (Argyrodes elevatus) that had built its web off of that of a very large Argiope aurantia. Host/parasite dynamics with dewdrop spiders can vary widely depending upon the size difference, but in this case, I suspect it's primarily stealing prey too small for its host to bother with.
Inktober 52 2025 - Week 25 - 'Dew' BONUS
I wanted to have a go at making a sundew fakemon, as I learnt that there are parts of the UK (mainly around the North, Scotland, wales, Northam Ireland- anywhere that more moist than the rest of the UK lol) has a chance of sundews growing; which is awesome. I live down south, so the weather isn't right for them to grow. Would love to see some out and about one day.
I've been busy this week, so I've not finalized the idea, but I like a 3-stage Pokémon that's a bit of a pickpocket meets a sundew. A deceptive and thieving Pokémon; and its final evolution is based on a dewdrop spider, which is an animal that steals food (from orb weavers in real life, so maybe from other spider Pokémon in the poke-verse).
I will come back to this concept, I feel like I was getting a good idea of how they should all look.
So what we have here is a spined micrathena (Micrathena gracilis, the big spiky one) and a dewdrop spider (Argyrodes elevatus, the little silvery irridescent one) trying to eat the same horsefly. @mlleclaudine compared it to that scene in Lady and the Tramp.
Dewdrop spiders are members of the cobweb spider family, and are primarily kleptoparasites. While they are capable of building their own webs, they prefer to live on the webs of orb weavers and steal their prey. This one had built a web off of the micrathena’s web and the horsefly had gotten caught right where the two webs met.
Dewdrop spìders: consummated thieves
Argyrodes (Theridiidae) is a genus of spiders found worldwide commonly called Dewdrop spiders. Most species are fairly small (2‐8 mm body length) but very readily found and collected as they live exclusively as kleptoparasites in webs of large orbweavers.
Most Argyrodes live in the webs of other spiders, stealing food from the host, scavenging small prey from the web or killing and eating the host.
