“Neil Young Heart of Gold”, a 2015 book by #harveykubernik 1) #buffalospringfield - rehearsing at home in Malibu, 1967. “Neil played their debut album to members of #theguesswho at Christmas 1966 when he came back to Winnipeg to visit his mom. The band then cut one of his contributions, “Flying on the Ground is Wrong,” in London in March 1967. Neil was absolutely thrilled that his old pals had recorded their first cover of one of his tunes. (Is that #brucepalmer , front left? Although he returned two months later, this marked the beginning of the end for #buffalospringfield . “Neil now had confidence building from Jack and Gracia Nitzsche, and myself. Jack really believed in Neil’s music. And Jack knew #neilyoung would eventually become a solo star.
