loveee this bc it implies dex makes a friend at the facility and that fucker desperately needs one. maybe at the start you were always playing against dex and were sick of losing then one time asked to be on the same team as him as wanted to win at something. you've been there a lot longer than him and he arrived and was so mysterious (literally bc he keeps to himself but is bizarrely good at games) then after asking a few more times to be on the same team, it becomes something that didn't have to asked. like you'd both naturally pair off together if playing games in a groups
