Priya was excited and nervous. She had been training Pokemon for a while, but she knew that she had a lot to learn. Today was the day she was leaving home and going to Kanto for the first time, to get better at battling and to have new experiences. This would be the first time that she ever left home. She was excited to start anew, but nervous about leaving her friends and family.
Her hand shook as she tried to hold her spoon properly to eat her cereal. Her dad noticed how nervous she was and placed a hand on her shoulder and gave her a sad smile.
"I know you're nervous about leaving home," he said. "And I'm sad to let you go. But I know you're going to do great things."
She looked up at him and smiled. "I know, dad. I just wish I could have someone teach me. I feel like there's so much I have to learn."
Her father pulled her into a supportive hug. "I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you, too, dad," she said, hugging him back.
Unable to finish her breakfast, she started to make sure that she had all that she needed. Her backpack was full of healing supplies, emergency tools, and a map of Kanto. Attached to her belt were her pokeballs with her best friends in them. Her father had lent her his Pidgeot for her journey, to drop her off at Pallet Town.
"Bye, dad! I'll call you later!" she said, getting atop the Pidgeot and taking off into the air.
As she flew higher into the air, she saw her hometown shrink below her until it was finally out of sight. Her nerves had settled, but she was still as excited as ever. Before too long, she was descending into Pallet Town.
"Thanks, Pidgeot," she said to the large bird. "Go back and tell my dad I made it all right."
The Pidgeot understood, and took to the skies once more.
Priya looked around at the small town. "All right. I'm here!" she said to herself. "Now... where do I begin?"
