rarely do i find a sculpt that is unique, versatile, recognizeable, and hot as fuck. i was introduced to qing lang around the same time as ji nuo and haven't been able to stop thinking about him since. he's one of df-h's longest running dolls, the earliest mention i could find of him was a special edition taoist monk full set in 2016 for df-h's nine year anniversary (5th photo below), which means he's likely been in circulation and getting new editions (most recently in 2022 for christmas, photo 2-4 below) for at least almost ten years!
there are two things i mean by being versatile and recognizeable at the same time! look at these (top left blonde is chiyu, his companion release doll):
counting the topmost photo in this post, that's seven different full sets and all of them suit his features so nicely for seven different vibes (though they do love putting him in some sluttly little pajamas)! i think he may also have unique faceups in the nude body photos. he has two different face sculpts, one with the slightly parted lips, and his special edition with an open mouth and interchangeable inserts.
his expression can change so much depending on angle and faceup, too, which is a wonderful trait for dynamic photos. however, it's always very easy to tell who he is right away! his eye and mouth shape, and... i think personality is the right word, shine through.
this is what i mean about him being unique! the artist pushed both his expression and features with the droopy eyes and exaggerated pouty mouth, but still pulled the corners in just enough to give him a smile from certain angles. i understand the love for dolls with neutral dreamy expressions, they lend themselves wonderfully to deeply customized faceups and characters, but i adore when an artist commits this hard to a shape, and qing lang still being incredibly versatile speaks to a huge amount of skill and thought being put into his sculpt.
another point in the versatility category is that the two nude photos are on the df-h 50cm 1/3 body and 41cm 1/4 body respectively from the body listings, and df-h has officially released him on 41cm, 50cm, and 62cm (with head) bodies for his full sets. i often find that heads will look disproportionate to different bodies when swapped between scales, but he always looks balanced to the point that df-h purposefully put together his christmas event full sets with 1/3 and 1/4 options.
on to my last point: in my last post about ji nuo i was talking about how shamelessly df-h shows off their dolls in a sexy way. they also happen to use qing lang for a lot of their product photos unrelated to his head sculpt, like the 1/3 and 1/4 bodies above. they also make silicone tentacles as props for their dolls, and guess who's in those....
someone at df-h loves this doll, and i am so fucking grateful for artistic and perverted reasons (and the overlap between the two). he's absolutely gorgeous in every situation he's put in, and df-h knows it.
the head of his i have coming is most likely the parted lip version. i love the chase and digging through the ass end of the internet, so i'm kind of glad my grail hunt isn't quite over.
