Seriously, this movie is really old, you probably won’t find it in any rental stores, and not on Netflix.
Tuesday: Lawless (2012)
Brothers run a moonshine ring during prohibition, and learn that there are always consequences for their actions when a new deputy comes to town. Starring: Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy
At first glance, this is a terrible looking movie about old times. But after watching this movie, not only will you feel angry, you will understand how similar young adults today are to young adults during prohibition. Not to mention Tom Hardy gives an incredible performance.
Wednesday: Phoebe In Wonderland (2008)
I don’t want to say a lot about this one. It’s an incredible film that really challenges the way you look at life and at other people. Starring: Elle Fanning
This was originally recommended to me by Blair so definitely a must see for everyone. Elle Fanning is an amazing actress, I’m so glad her sister took off, otherwise I don’t think she would even have been discovered.
Thursday: Let Him Be (2009)
Two film students come across a home movie of a man who appears to be an elderly John Lennon playing guitar. They set out to find him and uncover the truth, but at what cost? Starring: No one you would know anyways. No name actors with dozens of TV shows under their belts.
I’ve never been a big fan of dramatic mockumentary, but this is an exceptional exception. I passed this by at the rental store over and over until one day I stopped and picked it up. I thought for sure it would be another eye roller, it wasn’t.
Friday: The Secret Window (2004)
A writer tries to clear up accusations of plagerism, when a stranger shows up at his door. Starring: Johnny Depp
This is a thriller. It’s written by Stephen King but I wouldnt classify it as horror. It will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
WEEKEND DOUBLE FEATURE Forrest Gump (1994) A man deals with the ups and downs of life. Ignorance is bliss. Starring: Tom Hanks I didn't want to repeat stars but Tom Hanks is just to versatile and this really shows it. I mean, if you haven't seen this, watch it. If you have seen it, re-watch it. This is just an incredible film. It is a plethora of alternative history, comedy, romance, and action. WEEKEND DOUBLE FEATURE The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) A man finds his life spiraling out of control when his girlfriend chooses to have all memories of him erased. Starring: Jim Carrey
I hate Jim Carrey, like, I despise him. He plays such dumb roles, and I really don't think he's that good. BUT (a big butt) this film is really redeeming for him. I found myself lost in his performance, I felt his every ache and pain. Warning: Sadness will happen.
