6.29.97 it’s been 21 years? this was the last time i saw ray. he was not a friend by my own definition of friend. but he was a guy that said what is up to me and the guys i was going to shows with and certainly was cool to us. this photo was from the WARZONE, no contest, saves the day (1st show), 9 lives, big block 454 show in manville. the original line up was much different. it was tentatively FOLLOW THROUGH, UPRISE, FLOORPUNCH. i’ve written different takes on this show and little anecdotes. warzone was driving out that day i think to record that last LP and only played one show after this at milwaukee metal fest. i didn’t take many photos during this point in my life. i was working 3 sometimes 4 jobs (one in a photo store even) and i just didn’t have time to think about it juggling band stuff and shows. but for some reason i’d shot a roll of film at this show. i know jeff z had come with us to this but i never saw any of his photos from it. i do believe we’d sold every last demo we’d brought with us to the show and might have been the first time we’d played after recording. i just did some googling 9/11/97 i knew i was at the pipeline but had no idea who had played it looks like it was ONE WAY SYSTEM i remember my friend sue showing up and telling me about ray and i drove the 5 minutes it took to get home and called my buddies who would care. as sad as a day like today can get you always be keepin that faith and reading the fun find wild memories people post up. #DFTSDFTS #dancehardordie #lescrew #fuckyourattitude #imbugginout (at Manville/Hillsborough ELKS Motorcycle Committee) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnlXEJ0hI7nFnieK-W3fLAIskyHfHh_HCsnSu40/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1pw9vqlg5o3f5
