ring ring, bitch a peek into han seoyun's phone

seoyun recently upgraded to a pink iphone 16 (previously she was using an iphone 13, also pink.) there's a simple transparent case on it with pink sparkly glitter inside of it, as well as a pink strawberry themed charm attached to it. there's not a single scratch on that phone and it'll stay that way (despite her possibly throwing her phone around a lot.)

her lock screen is a strawberry cake she tried at a cafe with her parents one time during a visit to quebec (that she still thinks about... she's never had a strawberry cake as good as this one...) while her home screen is a picture of yohan, where she was likely teasing him to lighten up before their shopping trip and took a picture for a memento. she set it to her home screen after yeonchella.

what is your muse’s favorite and least favorite social media app? why?

instagram and tiktok are simultaneously her favorite and least favorite apps. she could spend all day scrolling on them both, but she dislikes tiktok for the amount of time she has to put in work editing her videos (she’s a fashion designer, not a video editor), and instagram because it pressures her to keep up a certain image to others.

what app or platform does your muse spend the most time on vs. the one they actually enjoy the most?

she spends the most time on instagram, but she actually enjoys pinterest the most. she has boards for things she wants to do with her friends, date ideas, recipes to try out, and boards to look at her favorite archive looks.

what does their camera roll look like?

seoyun’s phone is full of pictures of her friends (heavy on agatha and yerim—the folder for them on her phone is labeled ‘my loves’), her parents (either on the few times she gets to see them throughout the school year cause they’re ALL very busy or from some years ago—’momsie and popsicle’), random pictures taken of meals and desserts she had (’yum dot com’), and most importantly—herself (’chanel no. 1’). there’s also a new one that she only shows agatha and yerim (’my star’)—likely to yerim’s displeasure.

what do they keep in the “hidden” folder?

pictures of texts between her and her two exes—don’t get it twisted, she deleted lucas’ number after they broke up, and only still has sungha’s number thanks to ophiuchus business. she would screenshot their messages to ask agatha how to respond sometimes during those relationships (’guys are so annoooooyiiiiingggggg UGHHHHHHHHH’ - text agatha would have received from her), and she honestly forgot the scs were still in that folder.

what aesthetic/theme/color palette dominates their feed?

pink. it’s all pink, with other colors be contained as accents. any shape of pink will do, but know you’re gonna get slapped with it as soon as you open any of her accounts.

does your muse use their real name and image online? If not, how different is their online persona from their real-life persona?

seoyun goes by her real name on all her social media accounts—though the accounts are all named ‘seoyunnie’ for ease of access to find and follow.

how does your muse decide what/what not to post on social media?

seoyun's social media is fairly well curated considering she has a brand to uphold. any personal pictures tend to go into her story to give a sort of ‘down to earth’ vibe to her followers, while her actual posts tend to consist of more ootd or fashion advice content.

how do they choose to express themselves online in spaces that are curated and where they know they will be perceived?

she expresses herself much like she does irl—her followers view her as a loud, outgoing, but kind and glamorous best friend. she makes sure to interact and like every positive comment she gets, even if she has over 500k followers.

alternatively, what would their social media profiles look like/how would your muse choose to express themselves online if they did not have to worry about being perceived?

for one, she would be a lot more relaxed when it comes to being online. she wouldn't have to worry about using the right pr terms, or anything like that. she'd probably post more ‘funny’ tiktoks, like her ranting in her car after class because she got caught in the rain without an umbrella.

lucas currently.... aSDKFJ lucas often? sorry. anyway sometimes she changes it to her friends, or a food she cooked that she was particularly proud of. she does change even her home screen frequently. in fact she customizes most of her phone regularly, when bored especially.

aesthetic food she's cooked, her friends in candid shots, reminiscent things. reminders for her friends to eat sometimes. thoughts about football or baseball. thoughts about boxing for that matter.

how often does your muse delete or archive old posts? what's the thought process behind those decisions?

garam is too sentimental to really get rid of things. she has pictures of everyone, even still. so she doesn't really delete them but she does hide, archive and bury them. she still has old photo's of dabin from when they were dating, she has pictures of lucas from first year for instance...

what do they keep in the "hidden" folder?

as i said, she will hide/archive things and when she does... it's because she's frustrated by someone or doesn't want to see them. in other words, her entire hidden folder is just... various pictures of people go in there when she's arguing with someone bc she doesn't want to look at them at the time :/

what time of day are they most active online?

garam is like extremely busy during the day and will answer 3 hours late but she usually does answer. she's much more active and available and responsive during the night however. when she's in bed she will answer, and she's veryyyyyyy chatty and very receptive to texts at that hour. she will get up and go meet someone if asked and will stay up all night if someone texts they can't sleep.

DG: TASK 02 — a glimpse into choi yerim's phone.

yerim has an iphone 16 pro in white titanium, and uses a simple clear case. everything on her phone is minimalistic and organized. apps are organized by color, one home screen page for each color.

her most used social media app is instagram / @ ch.yrm. everything on her account is perfectly curated. nothing is posted by mistake, and she only ever likes posts that she wants people to see her like. she never deletes or archives posts, because she only posts things she knows won't embarrass her later. she doesn't follow a lot of people, but is somewhat of a silent lurker from time to time — mostly when she's bored.

other than instagram, she doesn't use any social media. the only other social apps she frequents are for messaging purposes. this makes her screentime low, naturally, and she usually averages a maximum of 2 hours daily.

her camera roll is perfectly organized. she has a folder for everything — pictures of friends, food pictures, pictures from events, even one for important screenshots she'd like to save. yerim tends to take a few minutes to clean up her camera roll at least once a week.

while everything is carefully curated, she does have a hidden folder. this folder is filled with pictures taken during her friendship with imogen, as well as screenshots of messages received from imogen — especially those that had color coded calendar invites to hang out. yerim couldn't bring herself to delete these, so instead she keeps them carefully tucked in a hidden folder. she doesn't let herself look at it very often.

minhyun isn't exactly chronically offline or online, he has a pretty balanced view on using his phone and doesn't really limit himself. he uses it on the daily and for a lot of things.

he has a rather beat up iphone 16 in black titanium, with no case, cover or whatsoever. the screen is also cracked from him  throwing it around and the corners are very visibly dented.

what’s your muses screen time like, and how do they feel about it?

he has a very random screen time, it depends on what he is doing and where he is at. it has gotten down over the years, at the start of uni he would rack up roughly 8-10h a day (impressive i know) but nowadays, he had an average of 4ish. depending on his schedule it changes, and he has never really been bothered about it. he didnt even care what his screen time was until apple started notifying him every week.

if they had to delete all but one app, which one would survive?

probably youtube. he watches a lot of videos and listens to music there as well, so that one would most definitely survive.

how does your muse decide what/what not to post on social media?

minhyun doesn't care really. he does try and curate his instagram feed a bit, making sure at least the first picture of every photo dump aligns with whatever aesthetic he has build, but other than that he posts anything. he is an avid user of instagram stories more than posts.

how do they choose to express themselves online in spaces that are curated and where they know they will be perceived?

he does stream a fair bit on soop (formerly afreecatv) and twitch, so he is very much himself on those platforms. he isn't really worried about his image, or how he will be perceived because really.. he is there to have fun and maybe make some cool plays, and despite having changed his content over the years, his personality and views have still stayed the same even if the genre of games and subsequently his audience has changed.

what was the last thing they took a screenshot on their phone?

his last screenshot is of some disagreement in the family groupchat to send to his older brother and ask him if his parents are being serious. 

what time of day are they most active online?

before getting out of bed in the morning and before going to sleep is when he uses his phone the most.

what do they keep in the “hidden” folder?

there isn’t anything in his hidden folders. his pictures are all on display in his photos and there is no apps he is hiding.

he has very few people saved in his phone, usually consists of like their firstname, sometimes an emoji that he associates with them (eg. garam 🍜, agatha 📷 or lucas ⁉️) he has a handful of saved numbers in his phonebook, neither of his parents' phones are saved, but he knows the numbers off by heart at this point.

agatha has the iphone 16 pro max (desert titanium) with a clear mag safe case. she upgrades her phone every year for the better camera quality (or so she believes) and has the mag safe purely because she finds it easier to put on attachments to hold up her phone when she's filming her tiktoks. she has a phone charm consisting of multi-colored pearls. agatha has all the social media apps imaginable, her phone is like a hand grenade with 1TB of storage.

she has a fortune cookie message inside the case with the saying "take the chance while you still have the choice" from the last time that she ordered take out.

she uses her camera a lot to check her make-up or her hair, mainly because she always forgets to bring her pocket mirror.

her lock screen is of a flower from their garden back home and her home screen is a photo of her and seoyun from one of their trips. she changes her home screen a lot, the last ones being a photo she took of joon from their last trip to japan, of her and eunwoo sharing a sub, and one of hers and jaewon's hands intertwined.

what app or platform does your muse spend the most time on vs. the one they actually enjoy the most?

funnily enough, the apps that takes up most of her screen time is google analytics (required use during class and is left open a lot while she does her reports) and capcut (used for editing her titkoks as it has more customization). the platforms she enjoys the most are tiktok and instagram. she has access to three tiktok accounts: her personal one with around 102k followers, b612goods that just hit 10k followers, and jinyoung's tiktok account that she's currently curating.

what does their camera roll look like?

recently? a few full screen scrolls of just photos and videos of jinyoung. but it is occasionally interrupted with photos of close friends, recent trips, flyers she finds around campus, good ad campaigns (katseye gap ad) and bad ad campaigns (sydney sweeny ae ad).

what do they keep in the "hidden" folder?

games. tons of them. random ones too, like some kairosoft games, good coffee, afk and online games, diner dash, farming games. she's also a daily nyt games user she takes pride in her connections streak, wordle not so much.

what's your muses most popular post across social media? how do they feel about it?

agatha once went viral for having a series of post documenting her crush on jaewon and her post 'now dating the cute guy that sat beside me while studying in the library' is still her most viewed tiktok with over 4.6 million views and 2.5 million likes. she still does get new notifications on the post and she feels a lot melancholy about it now that they've broken up. she thinks of it as a good memory to look back on.

how does your muse decide what/what not to post on social media?

she has a very strict system of what she posts online to maintain a positive brand image. the things she posts, whether it is for her personal account or on the accounts that she manages, are all based on the data and analytics that she runs on the platform. what's currently trending, what songs are racking up streams, what meme is going viral. she keeps track of all of that and has developed hindsight of what kind of posts will get her the most impressions and engagements.

tidbits;

while she does have a youtube channel, she only posts recaps once a month as she’s more focused on short-form content at the moment. but the vibes are mostly about her day-to-day life in uni as well as hanging out with friends. the videos do get decent views on them, a couple tens of thousands but she doesn’t push to promote it nor post consistently enough to garner a significant following.

her screen time on youtube is also high up there as she tends to watch a lot of analysis on pop culture in the background while working on storyboards or content plans. her current favourite youtuber to watch is nicole rafiee.

she scours reddit like a pro but never posts, she mostly does it as part of her research on what opinions real people have on a particular topic and puts it into consideration whenever she does any strategic planning for class.

he used to be more active on snapchat and bereal when they were a thing. now, they're just ... there. his longest streak was 4 days lol. he only has a tiktok so he can open the videos people send him. twt is empty, save for a few likes and a single quote-retweet that ratio'd the op.

most "active" on instagram. follows everyone back whether he knows them or not. usually only logs in to check things when he's shit-faced and waiting for a ride. likes every post he comes by, may occasionally leave a snarky comment.

social media aside, his home screen is the stock photo starry night you see up there on the left. his lock screen changes depending on who gets a hold of his phone ( face to unlock or 0000, bro has no sense of security ) or whatever funny pic he took last. it's currently a blurry, barely recognizable pic of a drunken jisung.

ever wonder who's the target audience for a 1TB phone? yeah, it's lucas. his camera roll is a mess, containing well over 30,000 pics and videos dating back to whenever he got his first phone. most of them are of other people, even those he's fallen out with. he doesn't delete anything because he's afraid that one day, they'll die, and all he's got left are these pictures.

on that note, he exclusively uses live photos because they're like mini-video clips. sometimes when he's missing someone, he'd go through and watch them. currently, he has the most pictures of seoyun, but with garam. his videos are mostly antares events and trips, like his recent one to japan with akari.

the only hidden photos on his phone are a picture of a newspaper clipping featuring his kid self and the fisherman who took care of him; and a selca of him, hayun, and their mutual friend who tragically passed.

TikTok @/wshiyu — Surprisingly not as active as one would imagine, but like the best of us she often falls victim to scrolling in bed or more generally in her downtime. Has a few chats open with friends where they send each other videos and responds good–naturedly to other messages but overall less of a social platform for her, more for showing off a good fit with some trending audio. Picks up a lot of memes from her fyp, but also some real news and upcoming designers.

Instagram @/shangwiyu — Old username, in too deep to change it now. She's uh very active! Posts to her feed about once or twice per week, usually collages with anywhere between 3–10 pictures and videos. Follower count somewhere in the low 4 figures, but she can only stand to follow back -/+ 400 accounts which makes for somewhat lopsided user experience and semi–frequent unfollowing sprees to keep numbers down. Split between photographers, celebrities, fashion creators and literally anyone she interacts with around campus or Seoul.

Out of those, she has around 100 people on her close friends stories at any given time which is kind of unhinged. Usually it goes like her wanting to show someone something she posted, them not seeing it among her normal story uploads, and instead of handing her phone over she just adds them to the close friends list and doesn't think much about it until they bring it up. Not the intended usage but she truly #Don'tCare. Expect everything from fabric innovation news reposts to a staggering number of group selfies and video stories from nights out. Exceedingly snoopy, also 🌀 Show her your close friends story 🌀 Reacts and comments to stories and posts frequently.. but then you send her a DM and don't hear back in a few days.

Spotify @/wshiyu — Has some notion that she's going to sort through and update her playlists one of these days. Maybe it'll happen? Mostly plays from queue.

Pinterest @/wshiyu — Doesn't post but has several private boards filled with sewing and crafting inspiration, fashion archives, and also a dedicated picture bank of Sik–k, Kiko Mizuhara, Ye Hao where she gets her lockscreen pictures. Rotates them on some ineffable schedule. All strictly #inspo of course..

Facebook / Shiyu Wang — For keeping in contact with friends overseas and occasional snooping. She uploads very sparsely, usually about school or travel.

Weather App — Still has every city she's ever lived in on there! Likes to check in when she's feeling either miserable or wants to gloat over Schengen temperatures.

Photos App — 19 000 objects and counting, so that iCloud subscription is really coming in clutch. Goes through cycles of disorder and organization. Somehow she always finds what she needs.

Assorted Messaging apps (iMessage, KakaoTalk, Whatsapp, Messenger, etc) — Has an unconscionable amount of unread messages across platforms. She doesn't put a lot of thought into texting etiquette and tends to respond whenever she has time, whether it be right away or next week. Misc — Doesn't use Everytime as much as she probably should. Hinge and Tinder have both been neglected all summer. She has accounts on Rednote, Douyin, Weibo etc but hardly if ever uses them. Keeps up to date on her step count through the Health app and other wellness subscriptions.

jiahn has the iphone 13 in white and she has a clear case on it, often swapping out what she puts in the back—whether it be polaroids, cut up photostrips that she took with her friends/idols, kpop idol photocards, fanmade photocards, or random stickers. she changes it up relatively often, along with her lockscreen/homescreen themes. her usual suspects are miffy, woodz and pochacco though. sometimes she adds in pictures of scenery that she took, though she hasn't done that in a while.

she uses instagram a lot (itsjiahn there for her personal things, though the account is public). she's usually posting stories, if not actual posts on her feed. she always takes pictures when she goes out with friends and also asks them to take pictures of her in return. and then when she gets home at night she makes her little posts to commemorate their hangouts. also, since she runs a prodbyzinnia account for her side hustle, she's usually actively posting new products and teasers in her stories and then cross-posting them to her main. though in reality, the app she probably uses the most is a mix of coupang/coupang eats because she's always scouring for good deals and for good food LMAO

the one that she enjoys the most is probably when she's actively rotting either on tiktok or on youtube shorts. she also has a separate tiktok account where she posts little short things of the products she's going to be putting in her shop and that she's going to be selling, also under prodbyzinnia.

are they silent lurkers or actively engaging?

she's very active! she will like everyone's post when she sees it—though instagram's algorithm putting everything out of order is really ruining her life nowadays—and will also heart react or reply to stories if they're relevant.

what are you muse's screentime like, and how do they feel about it?

honestly it's pretty high. she usually hits at least 8 hours a day if not more, considering that most of her art/designing is also on her ipad. she's definitely one of those people who's on her phone more than she's not.

her camera roll if full of photos of food and of her newest projects. she spends a lot of time editing the pictures of anything that she's going to be selling and making sure that her feed is aesthetic and matches. and then the rest if food, since her motto is obviously the camera eats first more than anything else. she takes a lot of photos of herself too, but usually deletes the majority of them if she doesn't post them

for her itsjiahn instagram account, she doesn't have any aesthetic theme going. it's just pictures of her or pictures of food. sometimes the occasional sky picture.

for prodbyzinnia her overlying theme is pink and white, usually using the same construction paper and white cloth to market her items. she's trying her best to make her entire theme cohesive.

does your muse use their real name and image online?

yup! she's not really hiding anything ever, though for her shop she does go by zinnia in most things, even if it's all linked back to her personal instagram. it's her birth flower, so she's not lying or anything when it comes to it.

other notes:

she's very much a texter over a caller. the only person she actively calls is her brother and even then she doesn't really like doing it.

she'll answer calls if someone double calls her. usually she'll let things ring through the first time because her philosophy on the matter it could've been a text.

she doesn't delete ANYTHING from her phone so she's like constantly running out of memory. has like upwards of 10,000+ pictures

she reads a lot of manga/manhwa on her phone and has like 4 different apps to keep up with them.
