యాంటీబయాటిక్స్ ఎందుకు ఇస్తున్నారో డాక్టర్లు తప్పనిసరిగా చెప్పాలి : డీజీహెచ్‌ఎస్ సాధారణ ఔషధాల సామర్థ్యాన్ని యాంటీబయాటిక్ రెసిస్టెన్స్ దెబ్బతీస్తోందనే ఆధారాల నేపథ్యంలో వైద్యులకు కీలక సూచన ప్రిస్క్రిప్షన్ మార్గదర్శకాలను తప్పనిసరిగా పాటించాలని డాక్టర్లు, ఫార్మసిస్ట్‌లకు ఆదేశాలు లేఖల ద్వారా సమాచారం ఇచ్చిన డైరెక్టర్ జనరల్ ఆఫ్ హెల్త్ సర్వీసెస్ అతుల్ గోయెల్ బ్యాక్టీరియా ఇన్‌ఫెక్షన్‌లు, సూపర్‌బగ్‌ల చికిత్సలో ఉపయోగిస్తున్న సాధారణ ఔషధాల సామర్థ్యాన్ని యాంటీబయాటిక్ దెబ్బతీస్తున్నాయనే ఆధారాలు పెరిగిపోతున్న నేపథ్యంలో కేంద్ర ఆరోగ్య మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ గురువారం కీలక ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేసింది. ఇకపై వైద్యులు, ఫార్మసిస్ట్‌లు ఔషధాలను జాగ్రత్తగా వినియోగించాలని, ప్రిస్క్రిప్షన్ మార్గదర్శకాలను తప్పనిసరిగా పాటించాలని డైరెక్టర్ జనరల్ ఆఫ్ హెల్త్ సర్వీసెస్ (DGHS) అతుల్ గోయెల్ స్పష్టం చేశారు. యాంటీబయాటిక్స్‌ను సూచించేటప్పుడు అందుకుగల కారణం, సమర్థింపును తప్పనిసరిగా రాయాల్సి ఉంటుందని స్పష్టం చేశారు. ఇకపై ఈ విధానాన్ని తప్పనిసరిగా పాటించాలని సూచించారు. ఈ మేరకు మెడికల్ కాలేజీలు, ఆల్-ఇండియా ఫార్మసిస్ట్ అసోసియేషన్, మెడికల్ అసోసియేషన్ల వైద్యులకు వేర్వేరు లేఖల ద్వారా సమాచారం ఇచ్చారు. ప్రిస్క్రిప్షన్ లేకుండా యాంటీబయాటిక్స్‌ను ఇవ్వొద్దని ఫార్మసిస్టులకు అతుల్ గోయెల్ సూచించారు. ఈ మేరకు డ్రగ్స్ అండ్ కాస్మెటిక్స్ నియమాల షెడ్యూల్‌లోని హెచ్, హెచ్ 1 నిబంధనలను ఫార్మసిస్టులు అమలు చేయాలని కోరారు. చెల్లుబాటు అయ్యే ప్రిస్క్రిప్షన్‌లపై మాత్రమే యాంటీబయాటిక్‌లను విక్రయించాలని గుర్తుచేశారు. ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రజారోగ్యానికి పొంచివున్న ముప్పుల్లో యాంటీమైక్రోబయల్ రెసిస్టెన్స్ (AMR) ఒకటని డీజీహెచ్‌ఎస్ ఈ సందర్భంగా పేర్కొంది. కాగా 2019లో ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా 1.27 మిలియన్ల మరణాలకు బాక్టీరియా ఏఎంఆర్ ప్రత్యక్ష కారణమయ్యిందని అంచనాగా ఉంది.
