Lavi in D. Gray-Man 258
[more SPOILERS for chapter 258]
It's very crucial to notice that, other than being convenient in a plot-related sense so that he doesn't just suddently know everything, Allen admitting to both have seen more than we did in the flashback and to know only part of the life of his past self, means that at this very moment in time WE have a very blurry insight on what he knows or doesn't. At least until it gets stated out loud.
The audience's advantage of knowledge over the protagonist is not a sure thing right now, and it's simply impossible to tell if he knows more than we do on some topics. We don't have a full picture of what he got out of the extended cut of his flashback, and I can't discount this being intentional beyond saving page count.
Anything regarding Lavi sr or what he did specifically during their 15 years together he must have told to everyone in this chapter. He was relating about the missing years of their dead relative, it only makes sense he wouldn't withhold information on this, unless it was something the clan already knew about/recorded, or happened previous to Lavi sr leaving. And if there was shocking info in his recount, you'd think Johnny or Link would brought it up. Likewise, if there was something crucial for their goals there's no reason to assume he'd not have told the other two at that moment, at least by what we know right now.
It's also pretty unlikely he knows crucial details about Mana or Nea, since it's a reveal you'd want to actually let your audience see live happening to Allen for all its previous buildup, but the point is that we the audience can't be sure to know exacly what he knows anymore. Or if there's even something at all to know that we don't and he now does. Maybe details of his life before he became the host, or of how the Bookman clan works. The cards are been partially reshuffled, and until he (and Hoshino) places down a card, we can only speculate on some of what he has in his hand now. Maybe it's just unimportant stuff like knowing Joe's name. Maybe it's not.
As Lavi jr said: "It's like you've crossed some sort of boundary, grown further beyond comprehension."

What a chapter oh my god.
Happy D.Gray-man's 22nd Anniversary! 🎉🎊✨
"Allen"
The star-shaped eyes
sorry I'm still not done with losing my mind over inconsequential laven crumbs in the latest chapter but do you know how Allen's left eye represents Mana's curse and past!Lavi's blessing and how Lavi's right eye represents his Bookman role and how in a sense both of those eyes are a symbol of how they aren't really in charge of their own lives, of who they are and who they wish to be? The fact that, after Lavi tells Allen that he's curious about who he is now, there's these two panels
with the focus specifically on the eyes that represent no one else but Allen and Lavi is driving me a little bit nuts. Just a tiny bit. Going just a little insane
