It struck me this morning after reading someone's #fridayintroductions on the same subject about how superficial social media can be. We really only want to see the pretty. It's what catches our eye. No one wants to see the ugly images, and certainly not really the ugly parts of anyone else's life. We scroll right past them - no double tap for you! Yet, unlike our faulty human selves, that's exactly the parts that Jesus wants to see. He wants us to bring him our ugly, to not be ashamed of the scabs on wounds that are still healing. He sees us all as his beautiful yet flawed children who are made perfect by him. The same way we look at our children, so perfect to us, is how he sees us. As parents, we see right past the nose boogers, dirty diapers, and other icky things and just see our children, perfect and a mirror image of us. That's how Jesus sees us. Maybe today, instead of introducing yourself on social media, you can introduce your heart to Him if you haven't already. He really doesn't care how curated your social media feed is, and he sees you as beautiful regardless, even with your imperfections. ❤ . . #fridays #dgmjoyfuljune #charlotteannedeitrich #pictapgo_app
